Just thought that I would get a step ahead of the usual incumbents on here and get the new season underway a few days early.......im going for a 2-2 draw White and James to score and 943 blues in attendance out of a crowd of 1,456 🤗

Haha, I can't wait for this now with it being only 4 days away. I predict that we will get off to a good start: Score: Solihull Moors 0-2 Chester FC (White, Akintunde) Attendance: 1,743 (914 Chester) Up The Seals!!!!!!

We hardly ever win an opening day game. I reckon it'll be a tense, tight affair and will end 1-1. Looking forward to it, nevertheless.

Lots of lovely optimism on this thread. I shall add to it with a 1-0 victory, Bell the scorer.

In 20+ years watching the Blues I can only remember a handful of fairly scrappy opening day wins, and far more disappointing defeats!
Think we'll be somewhere between the two this time with a 1-1 draw, which wouldn't be a bad start really.

2-1 Win with James and White to score. For what it's worth I think Solihull have made some alright signings and won't be easy, as proven last season when they spanked us at the deva.

Tough to call as neither team has played a competitive match so no true form to base a prediction on. Solihull dominated us last season but most of their squad has now changed - as has ours. In true opening day style though, I think we will huff and puff to a 1-1 draw. White to score against his old club.

A comfortable 4-0 win for The Blues..........that is what I dreamt last night anyway but in reality who knows. Looks like its going to throw it down during the match, greasy pitch, greasy ball, hopefully it will be entertaining if not I'm sure we will make our own. Roll on 2017-2018 season, live football you cant beat it!

Anyone know if the away end is under cover?

First game of the season, always tends to be a few injuries picked up across the leagues. I hope we can avoid injury, and at least come away with a point, if not all 3. It's a big game for White IMO as well as Mahon who we will need fully fit this season if we want to finish close to the top half.

Anyone know if the away end is under cover? Yes it is, including one of the temporary stands.

Anyone know if the away end is under cover? Yes it is, including one of the temporary stands. Cheers Rio Dragging along a friend who lives in Solihull whose son will be going to his first match. Will try to persuade them to join us instead of supporting their local team! Getting soaked is probably not the greatest introduction to fifth tier football for a kid

supposed to be dry at kick off looking forward to this #coybs Sounds like JM is confident: The Chester boss went to watch two of their friendlies and has studied video and is confident that he has planned adequately to prepare his side for the challenge that awaits at a side who many tip to struggle this season.

Please point out if I'm being simple here, but why can't the National League just swap it to the Deva and play the away game when the home match is scheduled?

Absolutely gutted, what a disgraceful club! They've had since May to improve their ground and they now call it off the day before. What a shambles! Unbelievable 😭😠.
