Richards played 82 minutes for Dover before it dawned on Kinnear that he's shite.

The worrying thing is that McCarthy wanted to keep him on until Hartlepool saved the day. We got lucky and ended up with James which saved McCarthy further vilification but instead praise. A lucky move if ever there was one!
I can't believe George is apparently 24. For a player that age his fitness levels leave a lot to be desired!

Notice that Kane Richards started and wears no7 for Dover this season. Looks as if they're planning on making him an integral part of the team.
It really is a sink or swim season for him.

Meant to have played well first half yesterday and then faded off a bit as they had to defend the lead second half. I would still have him over Chaps any day of the week on the wing.

Don't get this antipathy towards former players who are deemed to have underperformed for us - don't recall too much abuse for Richards when he scored against Wrexham. As for Luke George, he probably didn't live up to expectations but always gave his all. Hope they both do well at their new clubs. On a more positive note see Ben Heneghan has scored for Motherwell vs Rangers today. Was being tipped for a move back south to Norwich or Burnley. Shame there's no sell on clause.

Sorry but 2 players in Richards and George I am glad we got rid of both sulked when they never got there own way George was a waste of space

I've nothing against Richards. Thought he did his best, gave us some good moments, and I kind of liked his aggression when it didn't turn into sulkiness, but he was just a bit too raw and inconsistent. I genuinely would like to see him do well at Dover.
I find it hard to have any time for George though. The club showed him a lot of patience and he never came close to repaying it. I know there's an element of bad luck with injuries, but I think what's really unforgivable is that after barely playing in the first season, the club stood by him and made him captain, and what did he go and do in the very first game of last season? Get involved in a stupid off-the-ball incident that saw him suspended for six games. Still, the club for some reason stood by him, and still he'd have one injury after the next, and you'd just expect that on the occasions he did play, you'd see a player really busting a gut to make up for lost time and repay his club's faith, but he just looked like someone going through the motions. I don't wish him any harm, I hope he can get his injuries behind him and I'm sure there's a good player in him, but in terms of what he offered in two years here, no, not good enough for me as far as performance or attitude are concerned.

Let's be honest, he stole a wage from us for 2 seasons as one of the worst captains we have had in recent memory and we can be grateful he decided that the new contract offer was derisory and jumped ship. How he was even offered a new contract is beyond me as he had done nothing to earn one. I can only assume the terms were pittance. However, he's not our problem anymore - Hartlepool can enjoy seeing him jog around the pitch for a handful of games over the next 9 months.

He's bang up there with SVJ for me as the worst captain of a Chester side. Awful player, awful attitude.

Like many Chester fans my favourite player since reformation has been George Horan. I'm sure that he'd be the first to admit he wasn't the most skilful or the most technically gifted in the "Three in a Row" teams. However, his application and commitment was what made the fans take him to heart. When you see players like Richards sulking and stranking and giving up on misplaced passes it's hard to stomach. I'm not expecting high skill levels but a desire to give 100% when wearing the shirt. The above mentioned Richards and George failed to do this time and time again.

Like I've said with alot of player who've left, good luck but see you later. Nothing against him, not the best ability wise, and 100% not the strongest technicallly but he's had his chance and moved on.

That pitch looked like they've been driving tractors all over it all Summer. Watched second half on BT. Maidenhead just play long balls into channels and wait for mistakes. All a bit agricultural. Tarpey, the lad who scored the goals, looks quality, though.

Tarpey, the lad who scored the goals, looks quality, though. That's exactly what we were doing vs halifax.. The difference is we are putting balls over the top on a pitch so watered it mimics a slip-n-slide i.e. the ball bounces so far nobody can get to it.
