The last time the fans were treated to a home win.
It's a new season but form has carried over from the last.
Macca seems to have freedom of the press, no criticism, no mention of the last time a home game was won.
It's an odd situation, things could get toxic in a couple months.

I think that's the most alarming thing with Mccarthy he never criticises the performance or the players after a poor game - thought he may have learnt from last season but no - let's hope things improve I didn't think I would be this critical this soon in the season but after witnessing 2 awful defensive displays in a week with no change fromy last season in terms of tactics with 8 new players I can't help it

Yes, this concerns me somewhat - the freedom of the press. It got a bit feisty at the end of last season with Neil Turner and Macca regularly arrogantly argued with him in his after match press interviews, when he asked him some very reasonable questions. Having listened to the two this season, it appears that Turner has been told to wind his neck in as the interviews are all dictated around Macca's narrative of a wonderful performance - one that no one other than him sees. It will only take a handful of losses from the next few games and that wrath from the stands he felt after the Boreham Wood game will be felt again - the same wrath that he responded to be making various arrogant hand signals towards supporters who were quite within their rights to express their views. When people were loving up to him over the summer, it was really quite embarassing. All he had achieved was to sign a bunch of decent players, which has only ramped the pressure up on him even further. Unfortunately, it will have to get very, very bad before I can see anyone on the board actually making a difficult decision on his future. I just hope they've kept some money in the pot to pay him off.

Has McCarthy been interviewed by Turner this season yet?

We don't even have enough money in the pot to sign a loan player let alone pay off 18 months contract - Let's hope things improve and the bookies are wrong on us as one of the favourites for the drop - yesterday really took the stuffing and optimism out of a lot of fans.

Has McCarthy been interviewed by Turner this season yet? Yes, after the game yesterday. It's on one of the Facebook pages. Neil was in a good mood after winning the 50/50!!

Neil Turner was too busy thinking of spending his 50/50 draw winnings to challenge the manager on this last night.

Well fair play to Neil, if I won the 50/50 then I'd be looking for a quick dart home via the off license rather than spending his evening quizzing JM!

I'm almost sure Macca told the press to go easy and talk positively before the camera started rolling.

Ha. Like that. Maybe we could re-set the Eastgate Street clock to something like this and show the pain we are suffering.

McCarthys interviews in the press are pathetic and then the way he has a cheek to go back at whoever is asking the questions is terrible. Imagine high profile managers doing this kinda thing. A one off you can allow but it's every week for months.

Don't like it myself.

What I found particularly strange this week was his retort when asked a perfectly reasonable question about a lack of width, something everybody has complained about on here since. Below is a copy and paste from the leader website: Asked if his side lacked width, with attacks often breaking down through central areas, McCarthy replied: “That’s unfair. I want my players to pick the ball up in the midfield, then we have options for our strikers to run the channels, and I saw Ross pick it up there plenty of times.“I think that’s unfair criticism. I know you’ve seen Rowey, Halls, Mahon out here on the wings all the time, so that’s unfair and you asking that question is unfair.

Everything is unfair and unreasonable in his world because he can't accept criticism or take responsibility. His answers and lack of honesty make him look clueless, which only adds to the perception. He can sound as clueless as he likes if the performances and results are there, but they aren't.

I think some of the antics the aforementioned got up to were incredibly cringeworthy. No amount of medals should mask that when you think how many millions of people watched them blame everything but themselves.

We could get everyone to wear Christmas hats at the next home game, stick a tree up and get Cleggy to play I wish it could be Christmas everyday as the run out tune.
Maybe then the board/Manager would take a hint at how bad things have been for the lifeblood of this club-us the paying customers. Just a thought.

I'm really trying to give McCarthy a chance... but what a ridiculous response. We were too narrow and attacks were breaking down through central areas, Jon.
