I was at the game against Hartlepool yesterday where I got talking to a friend who was with me about local community work and what we can do to form more links with the community.
I was told that there are a couple of clubs who represent our club in work they do. Chester Fans FC are a charity based football team. Why hasn't the club done all they can to advertise this club in a bid to connect with local charities. I think it's a fantastic idea that they have come up with. Has anyone got a contact for who runs this club?
We should all be supporting this type of idea and the links with the community or am I missing something

Heard that they arranged a charity game against Wrexham at the deva, but it all kicked off and the stadium was left in a mess. There is a club team, Chester Supporters FC, which is the adult team and actually represents the club in a national supporters league.

I am the manager of Chester Fans FC.
Our lot do not spend 'majority of the time picking fights' at all. Love how this rumour spreads, were you at this game? Yes there were a few incidents, but we are a youth team, and it is against our fierce rivals. I am in no way condoning it, but unless you were there I don't see why you should have your say and carry on spreading our name around as a bad team, when we are giving YOUR club a good name with all the charity work we do. Just over £800 was raised, thats £1600 in the last 2 games we have hosted. Find me another team who does this regularly.
We haven't had the best support from the club since we were formed, however more recently our game was advertised by the clubs social media and website, for the first time.

Think the issue is your positive work will be overshadowed by your rep that's something you have to repair. But that requires a team effort

Obviously the trouble is not wanted, and it doesn't half annoy me when there is trouble at the charity games. It is something I am trying my best to work on, but when we are always being made to be out the bad team it really doesn't help. Not even like its neutrals, majority is our own fanbase who don't actually know whats gone on. I could go on slagging opposition teams off about the trouble caused, but I am not like that publicly.

Hang on, so it's happened on more than one occasion then? You said it annoys you when it happens at your charity games. Your own words. I think BfB was spot on when he said about you lot being trouble.

So we have one fans team that fights Wrexham, and another fans team, who have about 3 Chester fans that play for it.

Come down to our next one on the 17th September at Connahs Quay Nomads and see for yourself! Don't know what sort of team is 'trouble' but raises £800 at their charity games.

harsh on saying our lads are the ones looking for trouble i was at the last game and from kick off all throughout the first half 5 or 6 wrexham players targeted 2 of our lads with some heavy challenges that's how it kicked off once certain players left the ground it all calmed down and ended up being a decent game

It's actually quite remarkable that out of all the good work, the hard work and also the cost to these lad financially that some people can only look at negatives. These lads pay for the pitches out of their owb pocket, they train at least once a week, they have a team sponsor, a club kit, a website, a club shop all organised by themselves. Yes passion spills over sometimes and there is some pushing, shoving and verbal exchanges it's football fgs! So much effort goes into this club and the events, it really is sad to see people trying to drag the good that this team do down!

My lad plays for the team. They raise a lot of money for charity. Ok there can be a few hot heads during the game but most of the lads play with passion and the will to win. They are a good bunch of lads.

So much effort goes into this club and the events, it really is sad to see people trying to drag the good that this team do down! Didn't really want to post on this thread but lets bring a little perspective here. I'm delighted for a group of young lads to get together to play 11-a-side, as anyone will tell you it is a dying version of the game. They play their games against Wrexham and raise money for charity and can do what they like during that game for me. The problem comes from a post above where the manager states that Chester FC does nothing for them. You are a group of fans playing a group of fans from wrexham, other than a retweet to the followers what more do you expect? You're not affiliated to the club (hence why i take no issue with the poor behaviour, as after all you're kids) so just continue what you are doing and raising money for good causes. As a post above says, when you get older you can look at joining the adults team which puts money into the club and does spread a positive message having been going for 11 years.
