Link - Nicholson GoneTough on Nicholson as he had done a lot for that club and kept them up against the odds the last two seasons, when finance seemed non-existent. Didn't he even drive the minibus to away games? It's a results business though and ruthless decisions are made. I wonder if they have someone lined up. I could think of a good candidate - I would be happy for us to forgo any compensation!

Maybe this was what you meant to link to. Seems a little harsh, then again they're always struggling more than a club of their size really should, for whatever reason.

Hard luck on him. He did care a lot about Torquay, but as the above poster has said Torquay are a lot bigger than what their current position says.

He's had 2 relegation scraps as a manager but given the finance available to them and turmoil behind the scenes then he might think himself hard done by. However, we're just looking in from the outside and I'm sure there's more to it. Looking at their summer business and if they are signing players like Ryan Higgins then that suggests to me that they have a bottom 4 budget.

What a great opportunity for McCarthy to reignite his love for Ryan Higgins. Go for it Jon, don't let Chester hold you back! We'll struggle without your fabulous game plans and tactics, but you'll be more appreciated there.

The new owners after a protracted summer have finally gained ownership. They plan to build Torquay a new stadium and 'develop' Plainmoor. Essentially they are going to do for Torquay what Morrison Shand did for us. They sack the manager to make it look as though they cared, but as said he's something of a cult hero down there. Our first win of the season could be there.

What Hannibal said, their owners are out to shaft them, asset strip the club, sell the ground for property development. This sorry state of affairs was reported in the Guardian at the end of last season. Our last competitive win was there. If I were you, get down to Plainmoor at the beginning of September, proper old ground, and probably the last time you will see the Blues play there.

I'm going there to watch the blues. Never been to Devon so I'm really looking forward to it, especially with us having a good chance of winning.

Sounds much worse than it is though, given half of that time we've not played a game. Still rubbish and need sorting. But we're unbeaten until tomorrow at least
