I see Kingsley James has come out and said it as it is - that the overall performance on Saturday was not good enough - his problem now will be that Mccarthy will not be pleased - last season Durrell and Hunt both came out of the Macca cult and we're sent packing. I say cult because that's what it seems like he is like a David Koresh of the footballing world everything is just dandy and there shalt be no dissent just follow an ideological crazy regime! Why can't Mccarthy say what Kingsley has rightly said - what is wrong with the man - even the Club has commented this week - Mccarthy probably has the players holding hands in a circle chanting shite and studying videos of previous games gone wrong after all he was Lord Voldemors apprentice

I thought this thread was going to be about James getting a much needed haircut. We need to look mean in midfield not looking like we are going to Cornwall surfing in a VW camper van. Same goes for Dawson.

However, Craig Mahon was doing his best impression of Desmond Doss on Saturday trying to rescue Chester whilst getting pummelled from all angles.

In his interview after today's game, KJ has come out and said that the first half wasn't good enough and players didn't do their jobs properly again just like against Sutton.
This makes me wonder if the players are making a point about not being comfortable with the tactics and game plan that they are being given.
Something clearly isn't right if they same players are giving totally contrasting performances in each half.

Good interview I thought Mark. I take a different view - I think it is Kingsley rightly taking responsibility for the players not performing. Was at both Sutton and Aldershot and first halves in both performances were woeful with senior players not playing well enough. Sure the Management have to take responsibility but so do the players - yesterday the whole midfield with the exception of Dawson (who was good in both halves) were misfiring constantly. Obviously Davies may grow in time but the other three - James, Turnbull and Mahon are experienced and are significantly better than their first half performance. As Kingsley said - they just 'weren't winning their battles' so there was not the opportunity to play as we were under pressure pretty constantly. - I don't think it was a deliberate tactic to hoof the ball up to Akintunde!
Second half - players or management or both and it was transformed. Joyce and Turnbull provided a really solid base allowing James (who looked like a different player) to play further forward supporting Dawson as centre forward. And as others have said they couldn't handle Chapell and Mahon was near his best.

Can imagine JMcC making up a giant batch of Kool-Aid in reaction to the dressing room turning on him.
Pleased that they put some points on the board and hoping for better tomorrow but surely the style of play is whats doing the damage on the attendances not just the results.
