I have a grudging respect for JM continually offering himself for interview when deep down I'm pretty sure he knows the comments that will invariably follow especially in the current climate. However for his own sake, and everyone else's, I think he should take a break from media duties (Shaw is the obvious stand-in) because his waffling and incoherence is only exacerbating an already volatile situation. Indeed, thinking about it, I do wonder if the tone of his interviews may also be having a negative effect on the players themselves, after all, I'm sure some of them read the papers or, more likely, utilise social media (or have friends who pass on what they've read). In my humble opinion, it all contributes to the general air of despondency surrounding the Club at the moment, something we desperately need to eradicate quickly To date, his most ridiculous comment was that Hudson was the best signing of the season which lumped a load of needless pressure on the lad and that was the comment which made me really think he had lost the plot. It a an interesting point....he is so protective of his squad and I'm sure he thinks it's the best way to be, but the players must read some of the stuff and have a chuckle. I'm not expecting him to single or individuals for criticism but you can use the press to give the team as a collective a bit of a kick of the arse. He absolutely cannot win with his comments come 5pm today....if we lose then he won't like the questions he gets asked and get defensive, if we win then he will dine off it for a long time. Hopefully Tom Shaw faces up to the press todsy and give Macca and us a rest.
