As daft as it sounds, it's the sort of game that we will win. But in typical Jon McCarthy style, I will contradict myself and say we will lose. While there's always the glimmer of hope that the players will just think "sod it, we will play in our way" and go against Macca's moronic tactics, then there's always a chance. No doubt we will see those players held back though, as has been the case so far. A defeat and a step closer to Macca's departure. I don't want us to lose, of course I don't, but I just can't see any other result today. Had the board actually acted on the managerial situation, hope could have been restored.

Two scenario's for me. We'll lose 1-0 if we park the bus but if they get an early goal i'm going 4-1 and Macca saying our goal was excellent and we we'll get it right on Monday. He's got to be out of a Job by Monday night for me. I'm not paying £15 to watch us desperately play for a point.

Anyone who goes down there today has my respect but also my concern for their mental health

My first match since Torquay away which we won, our last competitive victory, so I am expecting a 0-1 win to the Blues of course.

It would be interesting to see that stats of both teams since we last met on December 17th (our last home win). At that time we were similarly positioned yet despite us going 7th, it was all down hill from there on in, but Aldershot went on a brilliant run to earn a place in the playoffs.
Last seasons games against them triggered the start and end of our good spell in the league. I just can't see it being anything other than a big Aldershot win today.

Says it all when the predictions indicate that we have little faith in a Chester win. Seems very little has changed since last season despite the apparently better squad. If we get a pasting which is more than possible we may see the end of JM tonight. Hopefully though we'll all be surprised by a 2-0 win which will start us off on a good run of form...
Back to reality I'm going for 4-0 to Aldershot.
And even more outrage on here (probably by half time).

Jesus Riot, just give it a rest with these predictions. You've never got one right!
How the hell are we going to score twice? If we score one it'll be a backs to the wall job for the rest of the game!
Chill out fella, I'm sure Chester will eventually curb his optimism over time, no need to have a go at him for predicting a positive result. Aldershot are the highest scoring team in the league so we can expect to concede, but I can see McCarthy's cuckold approach frustrating them like at Hartlepool, so I'm going for 1-0 Aldershot, with 116 Chester fans. Also good luck with your operation Riot. Forgive my ignorance, but what is all this cuckold stuff? As far as I can see, a cuckold is a husband of an adulteress or a man who raises kids who aren't his own, so I'm struggling to understand the metaphor. Are we just saying he's submissive and allowing his team to be walked over? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I just keep seeing the term used and it seems a bit odd and puzzling. Would appreciate an explanation!

We're still at the stage of the season where strange results happen so I suppose there is a small possibility we might get something from this one. However, Aldershot are generally strong at home and will be looking to bounce back after their loss to Boremstiff so, unfortunately, I'm going for a 2-0 defeat which will make Monday's game all the more interesting.
Latest SkyBet odds, which say it all, are:
Aldershot 4/9 Draw 100/30 Chester 11/2

I know it's a terrible thing to wish for and I feel quite ashamed for doing so but if it means a quick and painless sacking for the useless peice of sh%t then I really do hope we lose today and monday so that we can bring a new man in and have 90% of the season to put things right

Probably 4 5 1.
However, Davies is/was a striker. He certainly doesn't look a wide midfield player. Especially when defending. Maybe the injuries give him an opportunity to show JMc (and us) what he can do upfront. He has a good left foot and you'd fancy his chances of getting a decent shot in, given the chance.

Shane said 4-4-1-1 with Mahon behind Akintunde. I take whatever Shane says with a pinch of salt.

Would have been nice to at least see Nathan brown on the bench, just so we have another recognised striker available

Aldershot have already hit the post twice inside 10 minutes, not to mention constant pressure. Sitting back are we?

Chester being outplayed and outclassed. Aldershot moving ball quickly with lots of supporting runs. That's something we need to do. Too much ball chasing and not enough composure

Refreshing Twitter waiting for the inevitable. It's ok though cos Jon didn't chalk us down for 3 points in this one, we need to wait until Torquay and Solihull. Sounds like we need to wake up urgently, you can't soak up pressure for 90 mins.
