Why is it our players look knackered during games have no energy ? Is our training crap as we have several lads carrying too much weight and we pick up constant injuries. We can never up the pace during games and don't look sharp, are we even employing medical staff other than for match days as injured players take an age to recover!

Something that needs to be answered.

Some of them definitely need to sort their fitness levels out but to me it's like they get deflated and can't be bothered once behind or looks like the game is lost....like in any sport when you're winning or on top you get that extra boost and aredeniline to keep going, unfortunately we haven't been in that position for a long time

Astles put in a shift today and at least looks like he gives a shit, but also looks well overweight. Having said that, the little fattie that we released and signed for them looked pretty lively, Best game he's had at the deva stadium.

Astles looks in bad shape but gets away with it more often than not and he is the least of the problems.
The fitness of this team is shocking, LRT was blowing out of his arse in the first half after Durrell ran him ragged.
We are so slow, always second to the second ball, only player with life in his legs who started today was Kingsley James. All these teams look fresher and quick with more energy.
Macca got them early this year to make us fitter and sharper, what did they do in that week?

Wasn't it our brilliant Manager who employed a Strength and Conditioning Coach to help with player fitness, it doesn't bode well when we can see that the players are knackered after 6 games and that he's already using the players fitness as an excuse.

The amazing unique pre-season regime and the plethora of off-field conditioning staff seem to have worked a treat...

That comment above on LRT being knackered by half time... his impersonation of the bloody Viscount Combermere on the Grosvenor roundabout when we had that chance in the six yard box at the death was a sight to behold. Fair enough it would only have been a consolation but what on earth was he doing?!

This is why I'm wondering whether the four strikers all being injured really is just bad luck or something more. We had a lot of long-term injuries last season and the pattern seems to be continuing. Is it bad luck or is it down to training, fitness, club physio resources etc?
Plus, you could argue that the injuries aren't really a big surprise. None of the four strikers we've got started as many as 20 games last season. Hannah seemed to struggle for fitness at Barrow, White was in and out at Solihull, and Akintunde missed a huge chunk of last season. Should we have seen this coming? Meanwhile, we release the likes of Durrell and Hunt, who were almost ever-presents last season and were generally consistent.

McCarthy released Durrell and Hunt because they had the bollocks to tell it as it was. Couldn't have been for football reasons because we haven't relaxed either of them adequately. In fact, we haven't replaced Durrell at all, in terms of signing a player to take his position on the field.

You'll probably see with a new Manager in charge there are no fitness issues. They will all find something extra all of a sudden!!!
