HENEGHAN BID REJECTED
Sky sources understand Blackburn’s £250,000 bid for Motherwell defender Ben Heneghan has been rejected.
The clubs remain in discussions and Motherwell are understood to be asking for around £500,000.
Gutting that we could and should have had a sell on clause on this deal. Worth IMO about 50-80k to the club had it been actioned correctly Not to harp on about that.

You are quite right to "harp on" about this. That error has potentially cost our fan-owned club tens of thousands of much-needed pounds and some of those allegedly responsible still hold positions at the club.

It's obvious that someone at the club messed up, but I still think it's absolutely criminal that we were shafted in this way. I'm more annoyed at the loophole itself than the oversight.

Pleased for Heneghan but painful to see knowing someone's fuck up has meant we lose out on quite a bit of money from a sell on clause that should have been in place.

Undisclosed but Blackburn had a 200k bid rejected so it's at least 250k you'd have thought. Good luck to the lad but it really smarts that we cocked this up - 10/20% of a fee like that could've come in handy and gone towards paying the manager off right about now.
