Its only a pound FFS, its not about charging or fleecing it is actually part of the licensing law from Flintshire council . oh yes I forgot, all the pubs in Flintshire charge a pound to get in, must remember to take my bag of pound coins out with me Saturday night 😂😂😂 When we reformed nobody complained re extra charges because they daw year on year progress however now we have flatlined it is an issue also costs more the higher up the pyramid you go- personally I don't mind paying a pound especially as Spitting Feathers is only 2.50 very reasonable

Why doesn't the club look to sell food in the blues bar.
Just simply stuff, is it a case of we can't do it or we never looked at doing it.

Can't be too difficult to do a pie and peas thing like Witton do. Although lack of space already means your huddled together clutching your pints so the logistics of ramming a pie in your gob could prove tricky.

Witton was outstanding, two big bars and quick service, merchandise to purchase, DJ, plenty of seats, food on tap and a guy reading the teams out. Like you say, pie and chips, etc. Ho Obviously logistics wise am not sure how simple this is to achieve but let's try something.

It's opening at 11-15 am and is free entry. Where does it say that? It was announced on the Blues Bar Facebook page and is open at 11.00. In response to previous comments about food in the bar, I don't think it's worth it on this occasion as it's only open for an hour before kick off.

They used to sell pies and rolls/sandwiches from behind the bar but I believe they stopped because they only sold one or two each match day, so I'm assuming wouldn't make it worthwhile.

I don't have any objection at all to paying £1. It's revenue for MY club and i think worth it. Back in the days of SV it was £25 per season to become a member of Blues bar. Was it limited to 200 members?. Save £2 a season with only 23 games. See you all in there tomorrow - before and after - giving some money to MY club

If the blues bar is classed as a Club and not a Pub, Then under licensing laws, everyone entering Should be a member or pay to get in. Which would explain The £1 entry fee.

Even though it's now been Renamed 'The blues bar' doesn't mean it's not still classed As a Social Club.

Good point, but if that's the case couldn't they get round it by having a nominal Membership Fee of (say) £5 a year, which no-one would object to. Visitors (and visiting fans) could still be asked to pay a small fee to gain admission.

Isn't it free to get in after the game? And was free on Saturday. I find it hard to believe the £1 admission fee has anything to do with licensing laws.

Not sure about nowadays, but I'm sure the £1 admission fee used to be because it was classed as a sports and social club, as stated above. I think the whole reason for it being a club and not a pub/bar back in the day was to get around the laws with regards opening/closing hours, which don't apply anymore.

The £1 charge before matches was brought in to prevent overcrowding by dissuading folk from coming in to keep out the cold or rain and to watch the telly without buying a drink.
