Mate that's been spunked years ago, we don't have one. When we were playing players PER GAME in the tinpot leagues.

The club must be hemorrhaging money with the falling attendances and the position will only get worse while McCarthy is here, so the question is not whether we can afford to sack him but can we afford not to.
Assuming there are no get out clauses in his contract, irather than pay his contract off, it would make more sense to sack him from his managerial role and let him see his contract out in a different role but at a reduced salary. There would be no big outlay and hopefully a new manager would increase crowds and income to offset McCarthys reduced monthly salary.
He could either accept the new position or go to a tribunal and with his performance record and the fact we offered him alternative work, I would think that at best, any compensation would be less than simply paying him off.

In an ideal world, Mr McCarthy and the Board should be negotiating a mutually acceptable severance package.

What about a few collection buckets at the next few home games. I'm sure with the way things are we will raise more than enough money to get him out of the hot seat.

I haven't known a manager to be on the end of this much of a sustained outcry, including the OUT chants last week, since the early SV days and Gordon Hill. That's how bad it is.

And what if a replacement manager does poorly, then we will truly be in the stew.

And what if a replacement manager does poorly, then we will truly be in the stew. Got to go for a good option, not a cheap one this time round. Surely a good manager is only on how much we'd be paying a quality player or two. Totally worth it to invest in a good manager. Just look how Macclesfield do with Askey.

I agree the club when they appointed JM went for the cheap option after Burr and as we all know it worked until Ian Sharps left to join Walsall and things then quickly spiralled out of control. At the same time on the back of that the club offered JM a 2yr contract and what a mistake that was, so I agree this time round the club need to find a manager with experience and knows this league.

How about a quick, no fees swop? Wright for McCarthy. Surely Southport would be over the moon at getting Burr's missing link. I think of them each as a left and right buttock, when put together form a perfect arsehole.

As previously stated I think former woking boss Garry Hill is the best option at present if we could get him?

That's not inevitable, I always thought with a new squad, JM should get until the end of September to deliver results. The reality is now that the next two games are critical.

I guess we agree to disagree then. The man is full of excuses, it's his squad, he has had the biggest budget the club has had and he has delivered a squad which is unbalanced in terms of lack of adequate defensive cover and has retained the likes of Chappell, Joyce and Davies. Regardless of results McCarthy had burnt his bridges with the vast majority off the supporters, his position is untenable.
