Still very much trying to come to terms with this very sad news. Johnny "The Doc" Holliday is a legend among us older Blues. A stawlet of The Sealand End and The Harry Mc and latterly due to his ill health The East Stand but it wouldn't matter where you were in the ground he could be heard from wherever you were stood or sat. "The Doc" along with his brother Will were the "faces" among our support when i first started going to Sealand Road in the seventies and i am honoured to have shared a few beers with him over the years either travelling to and from away games or in The Blues Bar or in Town post match.
My sincerest condolences go to his wife Pattie, his brother Will and the rest of the family.
Rip Doc, a legend and a True Blue.

Very sad news.
He was really struggling last year or so, and Will brought him to the games. They'd sit at the front of B block last season or two. He'd been a supporter home and away for years.
Thoughts are with his wife, Will and the rest of the family.

What a top bloke ‘The Doc’ was . . . he was part of a group of lads who travelled the length and breadth of the country following the Blues from the 70’s and boy he could drink. Some of the sessions with Terry Vickers, Allen Pemberton, John Fetherston, Stevie Shone. Alan Joinson et al were unreal. RIP ‘Doc’ just let Harry know that we’re thinking of him!

Echo what people have said, remember turning up at Cambridge for a mid week away game. Walked into a pub which was completely empty apart from you've guessed it Johnny.

I remember those names as being my peers when I started watching Chester at Sealand Road. Johnny Holliday will always be remembered as being a genuine, spontaneous, very funny and witty gentleman. My thoughts are echoed by my dad who has been a lifelong Blue and knew Johnny on the pub quiz circuit. A true character in and around the city of Chester. A sad loss. R.I.P.

Very sad news indeed. We have had many a laugh with Jonny and brother Will in the Blues Bar over the seasons. Football just wouldn’t be the same without these great characters who keep us laughing even when we despair at the football. Deepest condolences to Jonny’s wife and family and to Will. RIP Jonny.

Sad news indeed. I remember as a 13 year old and my first game stood on the Sealand Road end and hearing this booming voice calling the referee for all sorts, I went home and told my dad about it "Yeah that will probably be the Doc"
He also had an uncanny knack of knowing which of the opposition players had ever played for them up the road, even if it was 1 loan game several years back, he would give them stick all game.
Cue nearly 20 years later and I started work with him and he shared some great stories.
An absolute legend and will be truly missed RIP The Doc
