We still nearly managed to chuck it away lads, off the line by Grand when he had no right to clear it, superb defending.
1-1 onwards and upwards, certainly a better performance today, would like to see us pick up a few wins though move us up the league!

Guiseley 0-0 Chester. 811, 212 Chester. 806 was the attendance so I was 5 minutes and 5 people from a perfect prediction!! With 6 injuries and 1 suspension I'll take that point.

I never realised how bad the injury list + Roberts red card depleted us. With everyone fully fit it's a small squad anyway. We may have to look at more kids on the bench next week. Marsh-Hughes should get a go.

Would have taken that before play and to come back from behind showed character. Well done team and staff. Concerning about the injury list though.

That dressing room will be buzzing after that, They never gave up and fought till the end. fair play to them. That's all we ask for.

The amount of times we can’t play a final ball is incredible. Roberts can play a pass of course but he’s a deep lying midfielder not a number 10. George will transform this side if and when he’s fit.

A marathon starts with a few small steps. I'll take this small improvement and say "well done lads now lets build on it".
To those who are expecting miracles overnight - you're wasting your time. Success takes time, dedication, persistence and patience. Nothing worthwhile was ever achieved missing these ingredients...

Take that point all day long, given how depleted we are. Guiseley will probably end up being a top half side so it's a decent result.
Sounded like when we lost Burton, we came under a good 20 minute spell of pressure. For any team to try and ride out a storm without their captain and two YTS players on the pitch is going to be difficult, but what an experience that'll be for both Noble and Marsh-Hughes.
An important result for morale, well done blues.

Got to be honest take that after conceding so late on, last season we would have crumbled, great character shown, build on it and move forward boys COYB

Not just the players but the management as well considering the last couple of weeks A draw away from home is never a bad result especially after conceding so late on. Well done!

Credit to the lads to keep going after going a goal down so late on. Sounds like a point was about right and it will do wonders for a side that would have been on a real downer with a 3rd straight defeat.

If the injury list is as bad as seems, then it is an excellent opportunity to give the likes of Cain Noble Marzh Hughes and Thompson a go. We may well be surprised?

A point is not the end of the world at all, and at least we have got off the mark again. Performance wise, we improved loads today while we can take positives out of this. Overall, the actual match was quite dire and was heading for a 0-0. No disrespect, but Guiseley were terrible. I’m finding it quite hard to realise how they are 6 games unbeaten because all they did was hoof the ball. They were all over the place at times and had very little quality. I always thought that it would turn out to be a tough game, but judging by that I can’t see Guiseley pulling any trees this season.
In general we were the better team and it would’ve been very harsh to be heading back home empty handed. I suppose we did to them what they did to us last season by scoring an equaliser right at the death. In the first half, our performance was much improved. We had one or two chances where we should’ve gone in front. I think it was Dudley who missed an absolute sitter from a few yards out. He hit his shot very tamely into the keeper’s hands, where he should’ve just laced his shot into the back of the net. We had a similar chance later on the half where we should’ve gone in front but our composure just wasn’t showing. Defensively, we were quite solid and it was nice to see Jon Moran start, who in my opinion should be starting more regularly. Steve Howson had a decent game too. Again, I must stress how Guiseley were so ineffective which is why I felt a little frustrated that we weren’t in front at the break.
In the second period, Guiseley stepped up a little bit more but still weren’t great. We were a little bit exposed on the right hand side and had to make a few decent blocks to stay in it. Just like last week, I don’t understand why Mahon got took off when he was playing well on the ball. It was a killer blow when Guiseley did score though, as it was an undeserved scrappy goal. At that point I thought we had let another 3 points slip under our fingers, but how wrong was I! Jon Moran scored a goal which we very muchly deserved as our performance was worthy of a point at least. I must sadly report an incident of what is believed to be racial abuse. When we scored, the Guiseley player (Rowan Liburd I think) who had previously got ‘injured’ was walking alongside the pitch near our end. However, a Chester ‘’fan’’ had a pop at him and was calling him all sorts of things and offending his skin colour. That ‘’fan’’ rightly got kicked out and will hopefully face deep consequences. Racism should NEVER be tolerated at ANY level of football, and that ‘’fan’’ is an absolute disgrace to our community club.
I’d say that a draw is a fair result really, and a stepping stone which we must execute from now on. This game wasn’t a thriller at all but I’d have taken at least a point all day long. Let’s back the boys next weekend and pack the Deva after an extremely long break.

As two featured today, isn’t that already an indicator we’re giving them a go though? For young lads to progress they may be best getting cameos as opposed to starting, worked well for big Sam.

1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses isn’t the worst start ever when you consider we have a new squad gelling, lots of injuries, enforced break and only 1 home game.
How did Halls and James play for them?

Be very careful who you accuse of racial abuse Rio. From what I could hear, What was said while abusive was not racial. Very easy to play the race card these days.

The steward confirmed it, never seen the fella before to be honest. If thats the case then was he detained? Again very easy to play the race card. While not condoning racist conduct at all I never heard anything of that nature. Some choice language yes.
