The steward confirmed it, never seen the fella before to be honest. If thats the case then was he detained? Again very easy to play the race card. While not condoning racist conduct at all I never heard anything of that nature. Some choice language yes. No idea I was watching the match, just overheard the steward say he was warned earlier and wasn't getting a second chance.

If this is true then the bellend should be named, shamed and banned from the club for life. We really do seem to have some of the local tools following us. And if its not true? What comeback does the individual get from a slanderous allegation? If not true there's no issue. Noone has been named for this.

The steward confirmed it, never seen the fella before to be honest. With luck he will be identified, this is a police matter and also a proper use for the courts issuing a football banning order. If he is guilty then I hope he is named and shamed and never allowed back at any Chester game for the rest of his miserable life, if he is innocent he can have his day in court to defend himself.

1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses isn’t the worst start ever when you consider we have a new squad gelling, lots of injuries, enforced break and only 1 home game. How did Halls and James play for them? It’s a point per game, basically, and four of them have been away. It is a bit hard to forget about the 8-1, but overall it suggests we’re at least a competent side.

Plus we have a raft of home games to come, improving match fitness and key players to come back from injury. Plenty of reasons to have some faith.

Very physical game against a side that looked more like a rugby league team than a football team. It wasn't just Halls that looked like he'd spent the summer in the gym.
We worked our nuts off today. Back four dealt with nearly all the aerial stuff well. Keeper made the odd save he was needed for. Except for one flap first half he looked steady today.
Stopforth covered everywhere today, and his distribution was decent. Burton competed well and we missed him when he went off.
The front players all worked back for the whole game, won their share of tackles and created when they could.
There looked a real desire and unity out there today. Defenders were high fiving each other when they made a block, or cleared it.
Couldn't fault any of them today, in a game where the ball was launched up in the air by Guiseley at every opportunity. That's not the type of game the Mahon, Hughes, Mooney and Dudley would want.
We would have been very unlucky to lose that game today, even if we didn't really look like scoring. But neither did they.
Special mention for Dom Smalley. I've been really critical of him, but he really battled today. Won his tackles, and played it down the line well. He had to battle against their 6'4' no.9 often for aerial balls, and didn't back down once.
We looked a unit today. That's with 6 players missing and 4 teenagers and a player we signed yesterday on the bench.

Stopped the rot before we head home for a few games, could and possibly should have won it but will take a point after how the second half eventually transpired.
Mentioned in last weeks match thread that I think Morley and Johnson are trying things out and still learning about this side, well today just looked a natural progression to me. We were good in the first half, chances were at a premium for both sides throughout to be honest but we showed some flashes of genuine quality in that time. Second half was different but also likeable for a different reason, we were under the cosh a bit at times but the spirit and determination to grind out a result was impressive.
There wasn’t a poor performance in a yellow shirt in sight really, if I had to pick out a standout performer I’d probably side with Gary Stopforth though. I think he conceded the free kick which led to their goal as it goes but it was one of those ‘take one for the team’ type fouls when they were on the counter attack. He covered every blade of grass.
Must mention Dom Smalley who put a bit of a horror show last week well behind him, I think many came to some quick conclusions last week but it just goes to show that you shouldn’t. Howson did well also, albeit it looked a game to suit for him. Mahon also followed up a promising display last week with another one here, his final ball was lacking as we’ve come to expect a bit but can’t deny that he is definitely showing up well going back in the right direction. He was constantly making himself available, asking for the ball and carrying us forward.
Moran is the man of the moment thanks to the equaliser, I mentioned last week how much I like him and he’s delivered. He reminds me so much of Ben Heneghan in his style, very neat and tidy sort who is assured in possession. A slight criticism would be that he didn’t win all of the ariel duels I thought he should have, but to be fair perhaps other than Alfreton they are probably the most extreme you’re going to come across in terms of the ariel bombardment tactic.
Had to laugh, Guiseley’s number 9 Rowan Liburd went down in front of us wasting time, he was then subbed and forced to walk around the side of the pitch. As he walked past us he was getting some verbals but retorted with ‘What’s the score?’ jibes, he was right in front of me at the time and literally a few seconds later Moran popped up with the equaliser. Funny as fook really, he’d gone around the corner at this point but I made sure I yelled back at him loud enough! Not sure what happened after that, a guy near me sprinted after him and I later saw him being led out.
Guiseley are an awkward team to face, they’re absolutely massive and just hoof it all day long. They’re genuinely a team of sumo wrestlers, you should see Andy Halls now, piled on the pounds. We did well in the circumstances with a few 17 year olds on the pitch.
Progress.

Just to add something else, virtually the entire away support stayed a fair bit after the final whistle to clap them all off today. Just nice to see after last weeks daft shenanigans, it certainly appeared to strike a chord with Johnson at least.

Only one team tried to play football and the other just relentlessly punted it upfield, to be fair it works for them. As Anders said it was actually quite enjoyable in a weird sort of way in the second half, defending on the edge of our box heading away balls and winning seconds balls. It showed that there’s a really good resilience about the team.
When you consider there was no Green, Roberts, Smalley, Pritchard, Livesey and Waters you actually realise the size of the task of yesterday with so many youngsters and debutants about. MOM - Grand, playing out of position but kept there quick winger relatively quiet and was constantly encouraging Moran and Howson.

I’ve read two posts and they’re already trying to show their hatred for us. Another irrelevant team wanting a rivalry. Deary me. Your best winger in the league got pocketed by an out of position 34 year old centre back. Lol.

I was one of those who completely lost my rag after Telford. I was one of those who clapped them off the pitch yesterday.
There’s still improvements to be made but the mistakes weren’t there yesterday & the graft & endeavour was. The team worked hard as a unit.
I did have a bit of an unusual experience; after moving to sit in the stand with the missus, I sat next to a woman who then moved away one seat. I assumed just to give us both more room so thanked her. She replied “I did it for me not for you” I had no idea what to say to that so just went back to watching the game. As it went on it became apparent she was a home fan so I asked why she was sitting in the away end “Because this is where I want to sit” When one of their forwards was arguing with the ref & everyone was calling for him to be booked, somebody shouted “book him the big...” & she almost shrieked “Oh you nearly said it didn’t you!!” At half time she went & stood in the corner on her own. Absolutely surreal.
