Important game tomorrow - particularly performance wise. We've never really been in these last few away games and they've each seemed pretty much over by about 20 minutes - which is especially tough on the travelling fans.
We need to compete more tomorrow and stay in the game. For a side that has been conceding freely and not creating anything I'm not expecting miracles tomorrow but I think we need to see some kind of improvement. Another abject 90 would be a cause for concern in my opinion.

Guiseley's pitch is really narrow, and the grass is usually quite long. Every time we've played there it's been a hectic game. Doesn't seem to be any space anywhere on the pitch. They've been more like Unibond games.
Pre-season I thought the physical matches would suit us better. This is the first one of these.
We'll be there. Let's hope for a performance and a positive result. Telford wasn't great, but apart from a really poor 5 minutes, it wasn't too bad. The effort was there, but we had no real attacking threat wide or central.
Result could be anything really. I'll go for 2-2. Grand and Dudley. 350 from Chester. Based on previous games there at least one goal in the last 5 minutes!

I’d say that it’s a game we must not lose tomorrow so we can get back on track. Our lack of home games has sadly killed us as we’ve had to wait a while to bounce back from both of our away defeats. This match could go either way really. It’s the type of game we should be winning, but it will also be a tough test as Marcus Bignot will be fired up for this, which is why I’m going to sit on the fence and go for a draw. I must be in the minority here, but I have a lot of respect for Bignot given the circumstances, and would certainly give him a warm welcome (unlike McCarthy).
Guiseley started off the season with a couple of defeats, but they are now coming into this fixture 5 games unbeaten (4 draws I know) and are a physical side. They also came down with us from the National League last campaign. It will be interesting to see how Kingsley James and Andy Halls fare off with them both not having an easy ride last season, whilst Jon Worsnop could start in goal.
I do expect a much improved performance tomorrow in Yorkshire. If I was the manager(s) I would make a couple of tweaks in the starting line-up. I’d swap Danny Livesey for Jon Moran, Dom Smalley for Matty Thomson and start Lloyd Marsh-Hughes up front with Anthony Dudley. Dudley was really isolated at Telford without a partner, but when Marsh-Hughes came on we improved. Guiseley are a physical side and will provide him with a good test as he’s quite a big lad, so this game will suit him. This will be my FOURTH trip to Nethermoor (god knows why because it’s a terrible ground). All 3 games ended in draws so let’s hope it’s fourth time lucky. I expect us to take another decent following tomorrow so let’s hope that we can be rewarded for once. I’ll be there as ever. Up The Seals! Score: Guiseley 1-1 Chester FC (Grand) Attendance: 682 (315 Chester) COYB!

I don't think we've beaten Guiseley since a Ben Mills inspired Blues tonked them 4-0 six years ago. I'm not one of the people that thinks Shenton is completed useless, but he needs to either catch the ball or push it into safer areas and take more command of his area. I just hope he can iron out the errors and ask his wife not to interfere. We'll be missing Gary Roberts again and without him the midfield is so disorganised. I agree that Marsh Hughes needs to play some part, but I doubt that we'll go 2 up front in a really crunch match in which we need to stay in the game a bit longer than at Blyth and Telford. Guiseley 2 Chester 1. For the first time since we reformed I'll be missing this one.

Personally didn’t expect us to be in this sort of predicament where we see the 5th game as a must not lose? It’s a weird one. I still stand by my comments that this side need time and so do the managers in terms of getting what they want from the players. Blythe shocked everyone and it’s tarnished the start of our season along with stadium damage. This is a nice one to get back on track.
I hope we don’t lose, can’t face looking st this board saying we should have stuck with bugnot.

Think it was part of that surprising run of seven clean sheets we somehow managed under Sharps and McCarthy. Sounds bad but I wouldn’t be too discouraged by a narrow defeat here. The last couple of games have left me worried that we’re not competing.

guiesley 2-0 chester, 300 tops from us, one trick pony, who lost his trick will get subsituted again, bit earlier this time so he will have more time to abuse the fans who pay his wages

Complete parasites calling women “c**ts” and I think they need to give their heads a wobble and get a quick dose of reality.

I don't condone Mahon, but in fairness to Morley, if my wife was being abused i'd probably have words.

As others have said, I’d just accept a better performance. No more stupid, basic mistakes. It’s a tight pitch so keep things narrow and keep things tight. How hard can it be?

Think the best we can hope for is a hard-earned 0-0. Can't see us scoring with Dudley up front on his own again.
Hope I'm wrong and we bring back 3 points. COYB.

Going for a 2-1 win for us. Would happily settle for a hard EARNED draw and some indication that the last two games are behind us.
One thing is certain though - whatever happens, be prepared for the usual overreaction from some on DC at about 5.00 this evening. Win and we'll be nailed on certainties for promotion, lose and it's the end of the world. Makes for entertaining reading on Saturday night rather than watching the drivel on TV

Win and we'll be nailed on certainties for promotion, lose and it's the end of the world. Makes for entertaining reading on Saturday night rather than watching the drivel on TV It's funny really because for the last few seasons I've laughed myself at the up and down nature of our support. Win a game and we're going to piss this league. Lose a game and the anti Christ is on his way. But this season, after getting drawn in during the positive summer and thinking we might just have a team that could compete, play off push maybe, and then to see Blyth Spartens off all teams hand it to us on a plate, followed by a first half of school boy errors at Telford. And throw in, three unused season tickets sitting in a draw and then hearing we damaged Telford's ground but nobody actually seen any damage. This season is very much feeling like a chore already. Big game this today. A better performance is needed. The players need to look better organised and stop making stupid mistakes. So, it's over to them now. COYB.

Need a better performance and a show of togetherness both on and off the field. We need to see some of the pre-season promised fight and co-hesivness from the team. I’d take a draw before the game but hopefully we are better than that today. Performance over result for me at this stage. See you there COYB!
