We already have two left backs we really don’t need another one, the lad will get fixed up with a club because he’s a solid player he ,could come in pre season to get himself fit which will help him get fixed up.

I think he's signed for Marine Makes sense. I'd have been surprised if he'd joined us. However, I would be surprised if we don't sign another keeper. Make that Guiseley for Taberner

I’d say we’re four players away - Kenyon staying, Waters returning, a more prolific centre-forward, and another orthodox winger (maybe see if we can bring Nmai back). Just don’t see the fascination with Waters? Doesn’t get near the starting XI or much of a sniff as a squad player? I can see the attraction, in that he can play either side of defence or as a wing back and has a tidy delivery. Issue for me is, as you say, whether he is good enough to hold down any specific slot, esp as coming back from serious injury. One of the (many) mistakes Jon McCarthy made was padding out the squad with cheap players who were supposedly versatile but turned out to be versatile but crap. Not saying that's the case with Waters but does he add anything? I'm not sure but can't see the harm of a 6 month contract if he is fit.

The sensible thing to do with Waters is to have him on trial this preseason to see if he is ok after his injury. I imagine that's what we'll see and what Cal will base signing him off.

Brilliant news. That is better news than us signing any player.

Fantastic news that Calum’s agreed to a new deal, but I’m going to go against the grain a bit here by saying that three years represents too great a financial risk for the club in my view. I’d have been more comfortable with a one-year extension beyond the year he already had left on his previous deal, to take him to 2025.

Fairly comfortable in our board and Cal that there will be something in there to protect both parties should extreme circumstances occur in either direction. I think it is great news, I like the idea of a bit of stability.

Don’t think an extra year makes too much difference or poses too much risk (benefits certainly outweigh any). I couldn’t see Cal wanting to rinse us if things went wrong. Great news that the board is willing to back Cal in this way, and that he’s willing to commit himself long term.

Agree with this, essentially a “rolling two-year contract” (adding a year after each year) would’ve been my preference purely based on past history of us being burnt by the likes of Burr, McCarthy, Bignot. Adding another two years halfway through a two-year deal is a big commitment. However, with all that being said, he’s easily the best man for the job and I’d say the club are protecting themselves here as there’s only one direction this lad is going.

Think last seasons success will be hard to replicate next season with the way some clubs are splashing the cash , But in Cal we trust Good news all round , Can not wait to see who the new signings are .

This season will be tougher then last as expectations are higher after the success of last campaign. Really hope this is our year and go up!

Great news, league manager of the year, with a really bright future ahead of him and a blue. We had to push the boat out and keep him. The club is in good hands atm. Love it that Jim and Callum are young ambitious and genuinely believe in our club

Excellent news. He could have gone elsewhere and rightly needs certainty and reassurance from the club. He can't be compared to previous managers. He has transformed the club.

'Chester FC have today signed goalkeeper Kai Calderbank-Park.
The 22-year-old Australian has experience in Non-League with Curzon Ashton and Bury, as well as appearing in the Welsh Premier with Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Kai was capped twice at U19 level for Australia, and spent last season with Wrexham.
Manager Calum McIntyre said: “Kai strengthens our Goalkeeping department even further and is someone that our Goalkeeper Coach Neil Ebbrell has worked with before.
“We wanted to ensure we had two Goalkeepers in the building that could be called upon at any time without halting the progress of our young keepers out on loan.
“We are delighted with Wyll Stanway’s contribution this season and this signing ensures that Wyll is adequately covered and supported during the busy spell of the season ahead.”
Welcome, Kai!'

Probably not a bad idea with Stanway on four bookings.

Probably not a bad idea with Stanway on four bookings. Exactly. Calum said this on the Dee Sport Friday night show (last week or week before, can't remember)
