I always liked John Thomas. A super speedy centre forward who scored some great goals. I was really surprised recently to find he wasn't with us for very long at all. Seem to remember he left us for Bradford City and played in the fateful game when their stand caught fire Great player who played for us in a poor season. Always remember some Bolton fans turning up to watch him as he used to play for them. They had a game called off that day. He always played with his socks down? Seem to remember beating Tranmere 4-2 away that season but might be wrong🤔

Bobby Coy.
Really good CB without being the tallest and played in a back four of Lee Dixon, Andy Holden and Martin Lane (another good player).
Won player of the season and then Harry released him for whatever reason!

Had a great couple of seasons which coincided with when I started going to games with my mates around 1983. Remember him coming from Wolves. He was player of the year in his 3rd season, when we won promotion and as you say mysteriously released at the end of it.

Were Yeo and Lee Steele with us at the same time? Two proven lower league strikers who had definitely scored a few against us, but getting on a bit by the time they came here. Did ok in a fairly poor side.

Paul Richardson - came from Nottingham Forest and only here a short time before being sold to Stoke City - the complete player.

Quite a warped view of what actually happened. He talks as though Atkins made the team worse by dropping him. Plain inaccurate to say he lost his first game 5-1 as that was Terry Smith's "Lord's Prayer" game vs. Leyton Orient. He comes across as quite bitter about his career. He wasn't very good. Went to prison for assaulting his girlfriend as well - www.thefreelibrary.com/Six+months+for+footballer.-a099540264

No one really talks about Kurt Willoughby anymore.
I see he scored two goals for Ayr last night.

The worst part about that article is the unbearable number of awful puns they’ve thrown in. I’m sure I could think of one or two about the ‘Standard’ of journalism in that paper.

Sacked for questioning Terry Smith's training methods. People remember Smith's fallout with Paul Beasley but that was arguably even stupider when Davidson had been player of the season and we could probably have got a feeling for him at least.

This Kieran Burton joining us has brought me to a realisation - anyone remember the other Burton who’s technically still on our books? 😂
