Plenty of chat on here about Marcus Bignot being a leading contender for the manager's job. I'm not especially familiar with him (though knew the name), so looked him up on google.
He's black. How nice that not even the slightest hint in the various threads commented on that - exactly how it should be, and quite encouraging really.
We've had a black manager before, and it's really good to see there isn't a ghastly fringe amongst our fanbase for whom another black manager would in any way be worth commenting upon. Clearly it's not even something anyone even notices anymore. Whoever's the best man for the job gets it, end of.

Nobody should ever be discriminated in life, let alone football. The bloke would do a job for us and that's what it's all about. I'd have any 'type' of person as a manager if they get the results we all crave, Gay/Straight Black or White.

I don't think Chester as a city has the demographic in general, that would tend to hold racial views. Whilst we are very predominantly a white city, we are comparatively very highly educated and affluent, so these views have never festered in our midst. That said there's always one.

Always knew Marcus was black, but more interested in his CV. Grimsby fans reckon he wasn't given a fair crack there and he worked wonders at Solihull. It will be a feather in our cap anyway as the figures show that black players are under represented in management and other administrative positions. Always remember how loved Macclesfield's late great (name escapes) black manager was who sadly died of a brain tumour about 10 years ago.

Good solid lower league manager.

Nobody had mentioned anything (and why would they?). Then you create an ENTIRE THREAD about it!
Couldn't make it up.

I would welcome anyone to the club regardless what ethnic they have. At the end of the day, results are more important.

For me, I don't care for the colour of their skin. Why should it matter? Bignot has got a good record, and he's certainly making all of the right noises in the latest chronicle interview. If he's the right man for he job, then that's all that matters. It does beg the question, why do you have to point out his skin colour when others haven't? I appreciate your sentiment in the original post and I agree with the points you have made, but say if any other (white) manager was a strong candidate, would there be a need for the thread? Gay / Bi, Black / White, for me that doesn't matter. If they can do the job and do it well, then that is more than good enough for me.

Should be a given that we're not bothered by a manager's colour of skin, however I think some people are being a bit harsh on glosblue, as it's not a redundant issue. It's often brought up that there are very few black managers in the game compared to the number of black players. The likes of John Barnes and Paul Ince have argued that racial prejudice has stunted their managerial careers. I can't speak for their experiences, but from an outside point of view it seems more like they both just haven't been very successful.

Corbyn for Chester CEO. He'd increase the playing budget to £10 million no doubt.

Not that I have to justify my opinions & I'm certainly not going to get into a debate on politics on a football forum but suffice to say as a serving soldier I have very little time for anyone, particularly British politicians, whose sympathies lie with a terrorist organisation responsible for the deaths of many Brits, both military & civilian.
