If the transfer fee isn't from the sale of Hughes, then who is it for?

7 places on the board up isn't there? How many manifestos are there? Nine. I wonder how many members will bother to vote when they have to put a stamp on an envelope and send it to Wrexham. Could there not have been a collection box at the Deva.

Just watched the live feed for tonight's CFU meeting. Missed the beginning, but I found Mark McGuire quite intriguing as he speaks a lot of sense.

Having read through the accounts it vindicates my argument with a couple of prays on here a couple of weeks ago.
One argued we'd blown the rainy day fund. Not true. It's slightly depleted but still intact.
Another argued that there had been false accounting at the club. Not true. These accounts look spot on. Part of me feels we could maybe loosen a bit with squad spending, kind of speculate to accumulate
Things don't look too bad, but we've got to get back on track this season on the pitch. There's no reason why we should take another financial loss with the Hughes money coming in.

Could there not have been a collection box at the Deva. If they're going to let something as petty as that bother them, maybe they shouldn't bother voting. It removes any suspicion that any candidate or person on the CFC board could manipulate the results.

Why would an EPL club not pay a measly sum like £130,000 in one go? We asked for it in 2 installments so we won't pay tax on it.

I have no idea why anyone would ever stand for these positions,my father had the most dreadful abuse from people for trying to do his best for the club,it actually made him ill,as a family we spent so many hours sending out leaflets etc,it makes you wonder why anyone would try

I don't know who your dad is, but I take my hat off to anyone who gives up their own time and effort to help the Club.

In actual fact, Debbie's response above does raise an interesting point of "why anyone would try" to become a board member.
I see a lot of stick on here, presumably without knowing exactly what a board member does and doesn't do.
NWAS made a very good point about them reporting back on their work in CFU meetings, and this should certainly be done as they should be accountable for their actions - hopefully, to show fans the value they have added to the board in between meetings.

Good stuff, so the finances actually look very healthy with more cash to come in for Hughes and Alabi. We need the new manager to get us back to break even attendance levels ASAP because we shouldn't be using transfer income to mask the falling attendances.

Forgot about this, will have to watch online at home.
If anybody is attending could they raise the question as to why it was felt appropriate to give the previous incompetent first team manager a clean slate in the summer?

Working til 8 tonight but will tune in online to listen when I get in.
Hopefully the refreshing on the board will aid a little more transparency from the board. It unfortunately seems to operate in dark corners at the moment.

What dark corners would they be? It would help to have specific examples rather than vague assertions.

Well this volunteer was aware as the details of tonight's meeting came with the letter associated with voting for new directors. This should have gone to all members.

If you're watching online, you could email the question in yourself to Neil Bellis. He would then read it out to the room for an answer.

Well this volunteer was aware as the details of tonight's meeting came with the letter associated with voting for new directors. This should have gone to all members. Anyone in the CFU would have / should have received the AGM pack, which included the voting forms and the date of the meeting. I think sometimes people conveniently ignore the date, then complain they didn't know about it as an excuse not to go. It is a fair comment regarding the lack of advertising for the CFU meetings in general. Cleggy should mention the next one at each home game. Then again, he'd probably get the date wrong anyway!

I was referring to a thread on the Dark Side which mentioned a club office volunteer answering the telephone being seemingly unaware of tonight's meeting.

Have to admit I just forgot this whole thing was on, which isn't great on my part. Maybe a few reminders on social media - e.g "just two more days to get your vote in" etc. might help in future years?
