It doesn't sound like Maidenhead have had much of the ball

Pleasure to watch that performance this afternoon. Every single player was quality. LRT man of the match for me, every time he got the ball he was sprinting forward, causing all kinds of problems for Maidenhead. Let's not get too carried away but that was impressive.

Superb transformation, shows what true management can do. I wasn't expecting that today after a single training session, congratulations for all the lads and Marcus on the win. Onwards and Upwards. Akintunde is superb.

Two good wins you and us. Cracking following from your lot today. It was nothing like that last season was it? Less than 600 last year. Great result for you lads. Congratulations for getting that monkey off your back. You'll be passing Tranmere in the table before too long!

Great to see smiles back on peoples faces after what was a very encouraging display. Having only had a couple of days to work on things, I didn't expect to see major differences from Bignot but he's definitely tweaked things. From the first time Lynch collected the ball it was obvious that we were looking to play out from the back when possible - it made total sense as why punt it to two small strikers? Playing this well will catch us out at times, and a couple of times we did give the ball away in dangerous areas but I'd much rather us attempt to play football on the deck like that. Also noticeable was the defence playing a higher line - its dangerous given our chronic lack of pace but having the defence and midfield playing closer together meant that we could win more balls in the middle of the park and allowed some neat short passes. The worry was not getting the second goal and getting caught out, but once it was 2-0 you felt that Maidenhead were gone and there was only going to be one winner. Great celebrations after both goals, loved seeing Shaw high fiving Rio - I'd have been pissing my pants with excitement if one of the players did that to me when I was his age! You could sense the collective relief amongst everyone and it was brilliant at the end seeing what it meant to everybody. I actually felt a bit emotional which sounds strange after a 2-0 win against Maidenhead but we all invest a lot emotionally and we've been badly let down in recent times and it was just such a great feeling to win a game at home again.
Liked everything I saw from Bignot today. The tactics were spot on, fantastic energy on the touchline which is what we've lacked for years, and he was constantly encouraging and barking instructions. It's early days but it was a breath of fresh air in that dugout today.
In terms of individual performances, the big man rightfully got MOTM but was pushed hard by a few others. I thought Kingsley put in a tremendous shift in a position not familiar to him - he kept the ball well, gave us energy and actually won a lot in the air. Akintunde was brilliant too, such an intelligent player. Honourable mention to Shaw who lasted surprisingly well given his lack of match fitness, and makes the decision to sideline him look even more silly.
Don't want to get carried away, as Maidenhead weren't the best outfit we've seen here, but sod it lets just enjoy the winning feeling again!

I thought we played pretty well, can't fault any of the players. I think the comment above was spot on, it was like a routine home win. Didn't think much of maidenhead, how were they 5th
Aki man of the match for me, never stopped running and gave them lots of problems. Does he need to be more selfish shoot himself?

Anybody that questioned those on here calling for McCarthy's head over the last 6 months should have been there today. That's what a proper football manager can get out of this squad - after only one training session. It was so refreshing and it felt like a massive dark cloud had been lifted from over the club. Let's not get carried away, we have a tough game next week, but boy was that 100 times better than anything we have seen for 9 months. I'd forgotten what that feeling of leaving the Deva with 3 points felt like!

At last a home win to celebrate. Lynch was superb, a faultless goal keeping performance. The centre backs were solid and headed and kicked everything. The left back had a stormer. Midfield actually played football, opposed to being by passed. I criticised Akintude after last week's tweet incident but today he was superb. Ran his socks off and caused their defence no ends of problems. And Hannah showed flashes of his previous self and showed a cool head when one was needed. No stupid 11 headless chickens at corners and just an all round good game of football. Maidenhead had some good players to be fair but are probably the most unfit team we've hosted since our northern league days.

I listened to the commentary and was pleasantly pleased. Could have scored a lot more. We move on from here. A full week now with the new manager and assistant.

Got to be honest, I wasn't expecting that? we could have been 4-0 up at Half time. That was a very positive performance, no hoofball, no negativity, no sitting back, anyone of 4 or 5 for me could have had MOM Good to see us getting the ball down and playing, hopefully onwards and upwards COYB
