Really gutted but we were soild in defence but absoluteley nothing up front the 2 chances in the second half should have been put away Hannah free header but straight at the goalie and McCombe should have at least put it on target. Thought Archer looked totally lost and never got on the ball however Gough was solid at left back and Astles controlled the centre but you just felt with 7 mins added on it was going to happen. Referee well a total useless bastard giving all the decisions to the home side 6 bookings for us was totally over the top and the lino with the yellow flag shouldnt be anywhere near a game of football hadn't a clue about the rules especially off sides and who should have the throw in only pointed his flag after seeing which way the ref gave it. Still at least I managed to get to a game

Gough definitely my man of the match. Disappointed the the promise shown by Archer on Tuesday was nowhere to be seen today. If this had been an away defeat at Halifax or Hartlepool I could have taken it on the chin. But constantly losing to these southern non clubs is doing me in. Dover, Eastleigh , Bromley and fecking Boreham Wood I've been to them all and it hurts . Another ride home on the train of despair. Almost looking forward to conf north. York and Darlo our old friends.

I really admire fans who have the hunger to keep doing the far-flung away games year after year, even knowing the chances are that they'll come home disappointed.

Draw was the most I expected off us today especially on that pitch, gutting to be so close to picking up that away point and clean sheet then to lose it in the 95th minute to be honest.
In my humble opinion those pitches should be banned from FA affiliated clubs. The surface is far too hard, it's too hard for moulded studded boots and the plastic grass is too long for astroturf boots and if it gets even slightly wet its a nightmare with the surface going super greasy.

We are expected to receive a fine after 6 yellow cards ...as long as those bast*rds at the FA are happy to wait as long for us to pay the fine as they expect us to wait for their tribunal to sit and get us our payment for Alabi.

Trying to be positive about this. It sounds like it was an improvement on last season. 3 points from the last 2 games is decent. Definetly an improvement. Every time we got the ball we looked to attack. Maidstone were good but not play-off quality good. We did limit them to very few clear cut chances in the 90 minutes though. Just heart breaking to lose so late. So Chester to do that. It was a hardworking, solid performance which deserved a point.. it wasn’t to be. 15 minutes after full time Bignot was sat in the dugout by himself in silence. He was distraught...

Good to hear the positive reflections from those that went, that give us all hope. I certainly sympathise with the fans who struggle to come to terms with us losing to clubs that a few years back were well off our radar. I have seen us at Tottenham, Villa etc. This last few years is a bitter pill to swallow but I would not be able to support another club...if only it were that simple!

Still at least I managed to get to a game Chester Cathedral roof has more accuracy than McCombe does with his headers. Should've scored at least five goals this season but each time the world's oldest 32 year old conspires to cock up. its a shame Sutton from Tranmere didn't sign and then we wouldn't have been left with this lumbering carthorse who's fit for the knacker's yard!

So frustrating to go all that way to see us lose, especially in the 95th minute! The players put a hell of a shift in, and 0-0 would have been a fair reflection. But again we concede from a corner, although they had a bit of fortune that it fell so perfectly for their player to smash it in. Neither team looked good going forward although we both had chances, with Hannah and McCombe not scoring from free headers. As someone else has pointed out, McCombe has missed some very good chances this season, if he had scored that free header from 6 yards at Kiddy it could have been a different game, and if he had scored his chance in the 93rd minute here we could have had a huge 3 points. Can't fault any of the players for work rate, but on that pitch it was always going to be difficult for us. Seen a few games on plastic pitches at various levels and thought this was one of the worst, the bounce was so unlike grass pitches and it was hard to find the right weight of pass which led to both teams struggling. Hall-Johnson put in another very impressive display, as did Gough who I thought was shaky on Tuesday, but excellent today. Despite the result it was a very enjoyable day out. It was my first visit to Maidstone and I was warmly greeted by a steward who asked how the journey down was and pointed me in the direction of the away turnstiles. The bar under the stand was pretty quirky, in a good way! Nice lager at a reasonable price, and saw the end of the United Spurs game. Thought the fans were very friendly, applauded us when the attendance was read out, had friendly banter with them during the game, and were consoling when chatting to a few on the way back to the station. Some teams down south like Bromley, Boreham Wood, Eastleigh etc I hate losing to because of what they are, but Maidstone are a proper club with a proper fan base and terrific set up. So providing we are in the same league last year, despite the distance I will very happily travel down again as it was an excellent away day. Onto one of the aforementioned clubs Eastleigh next week, chance to get back out of the relegation zone. We'll go there looking to win because they've had a poor season as well. I still think we'll survive this year, just. The performances are massively improving, and the more time Bignot has with the players the better we'll get. Maidstone are now up to 5th, and didn't really look much better than us, which gives me hope.

According to Maidstone fans on OneFootballForum we were the most negative team they've ever played. From what I've read on here and heard on Dee106.3 flashes yesterday it was an even game and either team could have won it. I must admit that's the most disheartening end to a game I feel I've ever experienced. The problem with not defending corners needs to be a priority for MB now as it's cost us points throughout this season.

People need to back off with slagging the team off, we played well and have improved loads since Bignot joined. We deserved at least a point, was gutted when they scored. Hall Johnson was my MOM. Too good for this level, really good player. Big game next week, fancy us to get something.

I also think both sides were lucky to end the game with 11 on the pitch, but... referees. I doubt we'll be going up so so long as you get your act together under Bignot I'm sure you'll be back next year for another crack. See you in April!

Definitely looked like a much better performance from Halls
Hannah should've done better with the chance around the 6 minute mark.
That goal though - not good viewing. Two men going for the same ball and several players unmarked. It does just feel like we go into complete panic mode at the end of games sometimes and throw away hard earned points.

Freeze the video at 8:28 and look at how many Chester players are looking the wrong way. They don't even know the corner has been taken and McCombe in particular is completely lost.

They clearly had more of the game from those highlights, but Hannah's and McCombe's headers look to me like two of the clearest cut chances for both teams.
If we stay in games and work hard, those will start to drop in at some point.
