Don't worry Macca has offered all the average players new deals!! So don't expect next season's squad to look much different This continuity obsession he has needs to stop Can't he see there is 4/5 players that aren't good enough and we could go out and get better Next season be very similar squad and a mid to lower table finish Zero progression year after year I share your depressing outlook. I go every week expecting things to get better but they never do. We get lots of newspeak out of the club from Macca and Alan, but after 57 years you realise it's all platitudes. The only way we'll get out of this league is a proper cup run (at least 3rd rd) and playing your best players in their best positions, but we've not done that since the end of November. Defeat at Southport, though very likely is not an option.

Can you afford to pay him off come May? Carry on with this run and he'll be hounded out You're the experts! Not entitled to an opinion are we?

Quite a few of our squad are not good enough for this level and I'm beginning to worry that Macca isn't either. I tend to agree with sirfred that the Macca contract was offered a bit too early. It's what you get with a bottom six budget. We need a magician to match some of our supporters expectations. Personally I prefer league below we have always done well in it The budget doesn't pick the wrong formation or the wrong players.

I am beginning to think he is being dictated to by Walsall and Wigan . What other reason would there be for Roberts and Joyce suddenly getting games every week ?

Where abouts in my post did i say Joyce was on loan ? So you think Macca is being told to play Wade Joyce by his dad? Take your tinfoil hat off ffs. Wade Joyce is getting games because we only have two strikers, one of which has been on a poor run of form. So Macca changed to 4-5-1 at Dagenham which resulted in a good performance away at a promotion candidate, as well as MOM performances (and goals) from Luke George and Tom Shaw. He's stuck to it for the subsequent two games which have gone horribly wrong, and hopefully he now recognises that he needs to change it back to 4-4-2.

Is that 8 defeats from 10 down to 15th 8 from the drop - Mccarthy still purring about what a great season it's been - Absolute Garbage we couldn't beat an egg

I don't get this McCarthy love-in. If it had not been for that 10 game spell when we W5 D4 L1 in October/November we'd be well in the bottom 4. Today we were beaten by a team with no confidence that are completely in disarray. Doesn't bode well for next season if the same no-marks are signed up again.

Certainly a shame the way the season's turning out. I don't know, maybe things can change. That was a game I thought we might win though.

Is that 8 defeats from 10 down to 15th 8 from the drop - Mccarthy still purring about what a great season it's been - Absolute Garbage we couldn't beat an egg He's living off the back of that decent pre-Christmas run. Our form over the second half of the season has been simply shocking. Somehow he seems to disregard this, as if it was a minor blip - constantly referring to how well his squad have done. It's not about two months, it's about a whole season. He needs a reality check as the squad that we take into next season will be shed of our main assets. Blind faith and unbridled optimism only make him look and sound like a fool, as does the bizarre decision to allow his assistant manager to have half the Saturday's off. It all smacks of a man that seems unable to get a grip and a control on a situation, allowing those around him to dictate proceedings. No successful manager has ever operated with out control and discipline.

1 win in 9 isn't it, if that happens over the next 9 we will probably go down.
since our new assistant was appointed we have won 4 wins in 16 including witton at home, mind you he has probably seen about 6 of them games.

And that 1 win in 9 games was against the bottom team Southport who are also the only team below us in the Form Table.
