Has any announcement been made about how much was collected on Wednesday?

Should be an update once all the money has been counted

We were never told how Burr's fund was spent! Several people apart from me have asked many times, but the reply has always been a deafening silence, so no. I'm not contributing anything.

There was someone by the other turnstile in the Harry Mac too. I threw £20 in. Marcus needs all the help he can get!

I swear when them lot up the road were doing it for Keates they gave daily updates, along with that i think it pushed people to plough more in and get to that magic target.
I haven't heard one update as yet and only the odd advertisement to get money in for it.
Surely a daily tweet can only help. Just looked at our twitter page and we have the grand total of 4 tweets in 3 days, absolutely embarrasing.
Look at our neighbours up the road and they are tweeting about tickets for the next game, reaction from our game, build the budget total and latest.

From the OWS:
"How do I keep track of Build Bignot’s Budget? A running total of the funds raised from your contributions to the Squad Builder will be kept separately from this point forward. This amount will be clearly communicated at regular intervals to the fans."
That was posted more than a month ago and not one update has gone out since. Staggeringly poor communication.

I will be very interested to find out what the Communications Director has been doing all month at the next CFU meeting - given we have not had a single update on the Build a Budget. Additionally, I thought we were to be updated on the new reporting structure/portfolios 'shortly' after the election. Over a month now and still no word on that either.

Yep, hate admitting that the goaty goaty goats are good at anything, but they do give updates for fundraising, and generally communication seems better. Our stunning lack of communication is just unforgivable really and we are missing out on money because of it.

I hope i’m wrong but I have a nagging feeling the lack of communication might be due to the embarrassingly small sums raised.

Hopefully people will get down there and ask these questions. We need directors on the board fulfilling their role, not just turning up in a suit and having their name in the programme.

If you can, turn up to the meeting. You should find it interesting. It's talk about our club.
If I remember correctly they were hoping to get MB as a guest speaker. That should be worth getting down for on its own.
The second part should be informal. That basically means that it's a Q&A session. Listen to the other questions and ask your own if you wish to. If you can't attend register for the online access, listen in and ask using the link.
Maybe you could email Mark Maguire and ask him to include your question into the meeting Q&A session.
All this assumes you are a CFU member. If you aren't why aren't you? If you didn't care about our club it's unlikely you'd be reading this. The more that join the stronger we become.
Regarding the MB fund, I suspect that Ian H Block has hit the nail on the head. We've probably raised so little that it's embarrassing to announce the figure.

That is no excuse at all I'm afraid - the club made a commitment to keep the fans informed of the amount raised. The fact that they haven't done so is hardly going to encourage anybody to donate is it?

The same as he's been doing for the past three years - naff all. Amazed one or two of those standing for re-election were returned onto the Board to be honest but I put it down to too much emphasis on manifestos and no knowledge as to their preceding term.

If the reason for the lack of updates is we haven't raised enough, it's more reason to shout about it surely? I was one of those calling for it originally, but having not been on this site for a few weeks I forgot all about it and have only been reminded by this thread, had no idea it was happening on Wednesday.

Then it should be all the more reason to get it communicated out to supporters on all forms available. Email from this now mythical database that we've all heard about but never seen in action, then there's facebook and twitter. Christ I'd love to work on the advertising team at the club. Work a week then you get the rest of the year off!! The way we operate our advertising and marketing (if we operate it at all) is an embarrassment.

So running for a month with very little advertising from the club.. With Christmas fast approaching I think we should be looking at doing it similar to last time we raised money for Burr. Presents for the CFC supporter in people's lives depending on how much you donate. IF advertised properly for a change it would raise more than a paltry 2k

I don't believe what you are saying."with very little advertising" The club has asked for money and people who can afford to and the people who want to have. Just over£2000. We would of got more by putting the season tickets up by £2.

Maybe you should talk to the 2,800 in the ground on Wednesday night see how many say have contributed. Do you really think they've consistently hammered it home about this fund raise? Bollocks they have. 2k in a month with 6 weeks till the window opens is a miserable effort.

I actually haven't donated precisely because they haven't communicated any targets or updates.
This has nothing to do with them being embarrassed about the amount raised - it's because they can't be arsed - and as usual, as soon as they see they're being questioned on Deva Chat, a post on the website miraculously appears. It's absolutely embarrassing.
