These particular pesticides are going to be used to increase the yield of sugar beet, which is processed by one company in the whole of the country. That company (British Sugar PLC) is a major Tory donor and has a managing director married to a current serving MP in the Home Office. Classic corruption and jobs for the boys in absolutely every decision they ever make. Would you like to provide your source to the "major tory donor" claim? British Sugar are a subsidiary of Associted British Foods, a business controlled in part by the Weston family, massive Tory Party donors, tax fiddlers and all round wrong ‘uns. link

So based on the evidence from 2017 of donations to a political party, you think this law has been changed to kill bees?

As for not paying tax I see "accused" not convicted, and I presume all round wrong uns. based on your personal knowledge of said company, nothing conclusive here.

I’m not saying anything, merely pointing out that the Tory Party said that post-Brexshit the U.K. would continue to maintain the highest environmental standards. Less than a week after Brexshit they have approved the use of a pesticide that will decimate the bee population. Nothing I have posted is factually incorrect so I don’t see why you are getting so hysterical.

So you believe diverting almost £1million from a charitable foundation to the Tory Party is acceptable? Nice to see where your moral compass is pointing. Further explanation in this link

Same chemical, so I’m assuming they can aim it exclusively at these non-flowering plants and ensure it doesn’t leech into the soil.

I have a problem with all charities. Each and every one is usually run by some ex politition , and equally all are on massive salaries some as high as one million a year so if that's legal I don't see much difference as to where the money goes unfortunately where money is concerned somebody always has a hand in the till

Which ex-politician runs the Countess Charity? The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre? The Hospice of the Good Shepherd? Who has their hands in the above tills? Which ex-politician runs the Ben Kinsella Trust, your local food bank, the Deeside Roundtable? Who has their hands in those tills? You have a problem with ALL charities? Silly comment to make, but not surprising given your political leanings.

OK to generalise is not good so let's put it another way the ex Labour m p milliband takes 1 million dollars from the American charity he fronts. And the wonderful Terry Wogan took a fee from children in need. If you look you will find many more.and seeing as I have in my life time voted for all parties at one time or another my political leanings are not firm and fixed and I don't obsess about any one party

I agree with your point on the big, National, sometimes international charities with CEO’s paying themselves half a million quid etc.
You said you have a problem with ALL charities, though, I was seeking a qualifying point to that.

These are usually set up by private individuals or businesses to do good works within the community and as such receive generous tax breaks, including Gift Aid. How diverting £900,000 to the Tory Party can be described as ‘good works’ is impossible to justify, which is why they got into trouble with the Charity Commission.

How about calling it "Tory bashing and outrage about everything political" Come on Oaksy the comrades need a thread to vent their anger now the lockdown thread has been locked down. Although I am looking forward to seeing how they get a political bias into the thread about you favorite cartoon character. I was impressed with Ian, Mancot and Lobster all giving the thumbs up to Working Men’s Club on the music thread.

You've made an assumption that I think covid is a hoax. I've explained this already but it doesn't seem to be understood by you. So, I'll explain it again... Mr H Block posted about the hospitals across the country, specifically London, already being overwhelmed by the virus. I challenged it because it wasn't true. When I researched, I found that there were several threats from NHS bosses and local authority that if nothing is done to stay at home and protect the NHS and lives, then possibly those same hospitals could be overwhelmed. Youll also notice on the lockdown thread that Mr H Block also made reference to the overwhelming, that by the way wasn't happening, was down to a decade of tory governments. So, as you can imagine, this fake news couldnt be proven and it still can't be proven. Understand now Mancot?
