I disabled the warning percentage function earlier - I think the idea was alright but all it's done in practice is get people's knickers in a twist and give another excuse to moan. For clarity, I posted this on the moderators section of this forum earlier - in summary, don't slag each other off and your posts will remain:
"Hi all. Just a reminder that we shouldn't be removing posts for bad language unless that are offensive towards someone. There is nothing in the guidelines about bad language, and it's not something I ever wanted to enforce on here. I don't think we have many young impressionable posters on here that have never seen the word fuck before so I don't see the need to create extra hassle for ourselves removing posts with cursing in.
Also, no doubt you've all been seeing what's been going on on the off topic forum. My feelings are that the off topic forum is not that important at all - this is primarily a football forum and I'd like to think that since the harder approach since the string of derailed match threads have seen an improvement in postings on there, or maybe it's just better results?! All I'm bothered about is that forum - the off topic is mainly dominated by the same posters going tit for tat and it's really not worth our time and effort babysitting them. If anyone is directly abusive towards someone then I'm sure we can use our own judgement about whether to remove it. I'm happy enough to let the political squabbles take place on there, because then it keeps it off the main forum."
