I find with all of f o p posts if it's not in the papers he reads or the places he gets his sources from it's a lie. Just broaden your outlook, there are other opinions not all correct but then again neither are yours.

It just goes to show you are what you read. Or do we only read what we want to see. the only paper I actually buy is the mail on Sunday solely for the TV section and the crosswords and puzzles both are excellent. But I have yet to meet any sports fan who does not start reading a newspaper any other way other than backpage first.

If you had quoted from the “Torygraph” I’d have said at least it was a reputable newspaper despite its leanings.
Not surprised you’re a Daily Heil reader!

I found I'd got stuck in a Guardian-only cycle a while back and it can wreak havoc with your perception if you only take things from a single point of view. I try to read the same story from a few different sources now, to see how it looks afterwards. It's amazing how the same item can be spun depending on the newspaper. The Daily Mail was my dad's paper of choice when I was growing up. I wouldn't buy it myself but I'll vouch for the puzzles being decent.

Well it would be very strange if it did. But it does have up to date information on latest book releases within the TV section and like I say 8 pages of crosswords and puzzles. Far more interesting than politics

And I only buy the Morning Star for Farringdon’s Doubles tips on the horses 😉 I very much doubt that. you buy because it suits your agenda. like I say you are what you read. I could have a life like yours if I was to spend my life trawling through websites looking for negative things to post on here.

My father-in-law is the same, he gets the Mail because it has the best puzzles section. Unfortunately, he gets a daily dose of xenophobia and right-wing hysteria to go with it, and that's reflected in some of the stuff he comes out with.

If you want a difference of opinion and to see how much difference there is in reporting, I would recommend 'Ground News' its a free app that will show you all of the news outlets version of the same story and you can see the differences between them.
We all have different views, and it never hurts to look at something from someone else's

Far more interesting than politics How do you feel about the High Court judgment that your TV mag acted with "illegal and dehumanising practices" when printing a private letter from Meghan Markle to her father? or did you miss that story doing your sudoku?

Why is it OK for Chester fans to be abused like this?
If this was in person it would be classed as bullying.
Its a real shame that this behaviour is endorsed by the moderating team, and even encouraged based on recent posts.
The literature a person reads for whatever purpose should not be a tool to beat them with. If someone buys a paper for the puzzles then why not, if someone buys what they perceive to be authentic for political news then why not. Isnt this forum about respecting the opinions of others?

If someone buys a paper for the puzzles then why not, if someone buys what they perceive to be authentic for political news then why not. Isnt this forum about respecting the opinions of others? It's a thankless task trying to moderate the politics thread so it was agreed to more or less leave people to it. I didn't start Deva Chat 2 to waste my time telling people off for politics. All I really care about is that the football page runs smoothly and I think that's currently going well. If anyone is directly personally abusive to another member on here then of course that is not to be encouraged and more often than not it will be removed - I'd encourage anyone who is offended to use the report function as sometimes things do get missed on the off topic by the moderators. I take your point though that repeatedly taking the piss out of people for what they read is veering towards bullying, so just a reminder to the main contributors that by all means disagree but respect people's right to that opinion. And people can read the Morning Star, Daily Mail, FHM, NME, whatever they want.....that's their personal choice.

Struggling to find any evidence of abuse and bullying in Eyeswideopen’s post.
The emoji he used tells me it was tongue-in-cheek.

They isnt the issue here. The issue stems from someone else using a newspaper which is proven to be untrustworthy as a source for his information. People have escalated it to an argument.
