On the contrary he’s doing brilliantly in the face of the right wing cabal and their pals in the press who are throwing everything they’ve got at him in a desperate attempt to bring the party back to its Thatcher ‘lite’ Blair era. Tom Watson should be f***ing ashamed of himself.

The irony is, supporters of Corbyn who blindly back his every word see him as the moral and ethical choice. Frightening really.

Back on to the topic of BREXIT and no more personal insults, please! If you want to discuss other stuff, please start a new topic. I agree the insults need to go, but this has developed into a Brexit and wider politics thread. Only a handful of people are using this off-topic forum, and if a new thread is started for any non-Brexit political topics, they will probably just fall down the forum with one or two responses.
Better to keep all the political stuff (if UK-related at least) to one thread, I think. Brexit is dominating UK politics right now, so pretty much anything else is being done in its shadow.

As for the unelected Lords, including Peter “I try to undermine Jeremy Corbyn every day” Mandelson, I don’t suppose it would have anything to do with his want to scrap the unelected House of Lords peerage system and replace it with elected Lords now would it?

Yes, I think you're right, so all the political stuff can come into this thread, but peronal insults will be deleted. This forum is not the place for that stuff.

Haven't they already done all that, and it ended up with Labour Party members voting for Corbyn again even more comprehensively than they did before?
I think Corbyn basically represents what Labour should be, and Boris Johnson represents what the Tories should be. If people don't like them, maybe they should consider whether they've chosen the right party?

That sounds about right, but sadly I think it will polarise the population, much as Trump has in America. If things go too far there, there's going to be another civil war with blacks fighting whites and Christians versus non-Christians. Scary. What makes that even worse is that very often this country follows in the footsteps of America.

What makes that even worse is that very often this country follows in the footsteps of America. That is a concern, but I also think Trump only got in because the Democrats put forward a weak candidate in Hillary Clinton. Basically, they weren't true to their own ideologies and went with a right-of-centre candidate, losing traditional voters and failing to appeal to alienated American communities, who instead went for a populist who wanted to f**k things up.

Well I hope to goodness they come up with a strong, decent, alternative to him next time, otherwise there really will be a war there. I see he's already interfered in the election for next PM by endorsing Boris. Perhaps he thinks his look-alike will follow in his footsteps.

Corbyn represents the Communist party. I don't know what on earth Johnson is meant to represent. In what way is Corbyn a Communist or are you just trying to be ironic again? Nope Comrade. His recent proposals to hit hard working people with crippling inheritance taxes is a clear example of his communist ideology. It’s not the wealthy he’s going after it’s people who’ve worked hard and got themselves onto the property ladder and saved up when you see his proposals.

Yep, let’s see a return to the glory days under Blair, when dissenting voices, particularly those of octogenarian Jewish activists, were merely physically assaulted and ejected from Conference.

It's interesting you mention Blair. Back in the 90's when the Tories were deeply unpopular, Labour offered a viable alternative and were obviously going to form the next government. Here we are over 20 years later with another deeply unpopular Tory government but this time it's unlikely Labour would even come close to winning the most votes, nevermind a majority. Corbynites childishly hide behind excuses of a generally hostile main stream media, a lying right wing press, bad influences within Labour etc. Anything to dodge admitting what a failure Corbyn has been at capitalising on the mess this government is in.

There’s only been one GE since he took charge of the party and it resulted in Labour’s biggest increase in the vote since 1945. Not much more he can do until another GE to be fair. As for Blair’s Labour that was Tory Lite, even Thatcher approved.

Try again. Steptoe and his assistant want to lower the limit to £150k. He also wants to introduce a land tax. A land tax based on the value of the property you own? Something like the Council Tac then? Sounds like Venezuela mate. I bet you have sleepless nights worrying that the Ruperts in the big houses won’t be able to afford a second skiing holiday.
