I still find it odd that we keep hearing about an unelected pm. Yet the same people would accept corbyn as an unelected pm if Labour, lib dems, and all other bits and pieces decided to take over parliament none of whom would have been elected as leaders. Makes no sense to me. Or maybe it's because you just didn't vote tory. By the way neither did I but that's called democracy so I go with the majority Agree basically. We don't elect the PM, we elect the party, and they choose the PM.

Looking at the previews of the forthcoming series ‘The Rise of the Nazis’ (starts tomorrow night 9pm, BBC2), the parallels with what is happening now is frightening.

Stunning amounts of blue on blue today. Get the popcorn in, sit back and relax as the Tory party rips itself to bits.
You love to see it.

Johnson lost his majority today and that is even, with the bribe to keep the flatearthers of the UDP, on side. And it looks like the@bits and pieces have taken over parliament, aided and abetted by Corbyn.

General Election on the horizon, the right wing press will be sharpening their knives for JC right now, as their Oligarchs will be absolutely shitting themselves if Labour manage to form a Government, their vast fortunes made from creaming off money from the public sector services in danger.

Brilliant.

It is quite entertaining watching them tear themselves up over this self-inflicted issue. I've always believed being a Tory is at odds with being a compassionate person, and it only takes an issue like Brexit that they disagree on for it to become obvious what a self-serving rabble they are, and how happily they will knife each other in the back.
I do worry about Boris though. I fear he's going to hang around like a bad smell. The Sun and the Mail both love him and they are easily the two biggest newspapers.
Johnson and his party is the biggest issue facing the country, not Brexit, which I honestly think will sort itself out in time one way or another.

I'm surprised people don't at least think Corbyn is well meaning, which for me already puts him ahead of a large number of MPs.

I have been looking at the latest polls and it got me thinking. Do these pollsters just step out side in london to ask their questions. I have voted for the last 62 years and never once been asked to partake in any of these so called random polls. Probably all held by BBC.

I bow to your superior knowledge on that but it doesn't really answer the question. Where ever they are based the pollsters are they biased or genuinely impartial

not Brexit, which I honestly think will sort itself out in time one way or another. This is the main issue that people are just getting so frustrated with it all now. Its been 3 years and we are absolutely no further along than when we were going to the polls. Every single politician needs to take a step back and understand that they are the cause of that. Doesn't matter your view, something has been given to parliament to implement and they have all failed. No one knows what is going on and how it's going to plan out, the divisions in the country (shown very clearly on this thread alone) are going to just roll on and on. It's unhealthy. Need to just get it over and done with really. I think a general election is a positive thing to hopefully get someone with a majority into government so we can finally move on. It'll be a civil war soon else.

Trouble though is that it's tough to see how anyone in good conscience could vote for Corbyn. Why? I'm not convinced by the left's efforts to play down his past links to certain organisations. Equally unconvincing was his initial handling of Salisbury. His supporters turn a blind eye but I'm not so sure enough of the electorate will.

His initial reaction to Salisbury was essentially “let’s get the facts before we go shooting our mouths off” - hard to disagree.

You already know - it's all been discussed here previously and dismissed as simply part of a 'main stream media agenda' against Corbyn. About Salisbury, the 'facts' were already staring us in the face while he was dithering over how to respond. It's a common theme actually.

I see the Liberal Democrats are living up to their name.
Very liberal of them to welcome with open arms a homophobic anti-immigrant Tory who tried to bar any immigration into the UK for people with HIV/Aids. They're also so 'democratic' that 25% of their MP's were elected for different parties, standing on different manifestos and not a single one of them has held a by-election.
