Beating Rio to it.
No predictions please.
Have we advertised this anywhere online or via email on our mythical database?

This will be a tough match as Solihull have improved of late under new management and have signed decent players in Asante and Osbourne. Score Chester 1-1 Solihull with 1518 in attendance

Where to start then? Solihull are bottom but it won’t be an easy test at all. Although Marcus will be up for it against his old club, I wouldn’t be surprised if we witness another disappointment, but it can go either way. This is the first of our ‘crucial’ group of fixtures and I really hope we win, but to surprise a few, it could be a hiding. I am going to upset the odds and predict a defeat, which may be the opposite to my usual outcome. On New Years’ Day, we got hammered 3-0 by Solihull. Could history repeat itself? I really hope not 🙂. Come On You Blues! Score: Chester FC 0-3 Solihull Moors Attendance: 1,498 (106 Solihull Moors) COYB!

Surprised we all know this game is on to be honest. The club can't be arsed promoting it.

I'm with Rio on this. Another defensive catastrophe and another 0-3 scoreline. I'll reluctantly be there, but I've accepted an invitation to spend 2 weeks in Glasgow, so I'll be able to forget about the mess we're in for a while.

Not going to be a pretty game to watch by any means, lose this and we're in real trouble, my gut thinks we might just snatch it but my heads telling me a bore draw might be on the cards.

Looking at the weather forecast it may be in doubt. Snow Friday and very cold almost freezing.

Lets be positive. If they mess this up then there will be carnage! There is no defending a home defeat to Solihull!

P-P. Inch of snow on pitch, no covers had been on.

Firstly, well done Al on starting the thread... makes me feel a bit more confident...
Secondly, well done Rio for predicting a loss... I'm even more confident now!
We'll win this one. Icy conditions, piles of snow on the pitch, an orange ball, players slipping over all over the place - looking forward to witnessing a 2-1 win.

If it’s not snowed off I predict a win if RHJ plays and a loss if he doesn’t.

Honestly guys, we’ll hammer this lot. They have been awful all season. I’m going for 5-1, late goal by them to spoil a nice clean sheet. I honestly can’t for the life of me see us losing this one. We are superior all across the park.

Weren't we promised at the recent informal meeting that there would be a significant promotional push (in terms of marketing!) from this game onwards.....pretty sure MM was talking that up from my memory of his bleatings.

Lot depends on if RHJ and Shaw start. If they do fancy us to win 2-1, if they don’t narrow defeat probably same score.

Not sure what he does behind the scenes, I'm sure it's positive in terms of getting sponsorships in, but I'm sorry to say that from what I've seen and heard on the meeting videos his talk just comes across as waffle. Talks well in that he talks a lot but I don't think he really says anything.

That night at Damson Park was awful. We were never in the game competitively against their 10 men. Some awful players in our shirts that night. Agreed Moors were not a good side and have been pretty poor all season. They have had a couple of good results under Yates though. We have improved under MB a bit but it couldn’t of got any worse. To say that we will win comfortably on Saturday? I’m not so confident. We have an awful record recently against them. It is such a vital game and defeat would be disastrous in terms of our survival hopes. How many are we going to play who are now deemed fit but not match fit? Here’s hoping for the right result but it’s certainly not a given. We were embarrassing second half against daggers. I’ll go 3-1 COYB

Solihull seem to have picked up a bit under Mark Yates lately and will see this as a good opportunity to climb off the bottom. Not sure if he was ever realistically in the running for our job but he’d have been one of the best contenders for it in my view given his past experience at this level.

No it will be on, the covers will be on the pitch. After all there was plenty of warning about the weather.

Maybe our luck's changing. A postponement is a good result. We should have announced it on Saturday morning though!
EDIT ~ I've just spoken to the club office and they're saying that the match is on.
You've had duff information Charfield.

Well if Rio isn’t going for an optimistic thrashing of Solihull then I will. 4-0 to the blues , hat-trick to Akintunde inc a 30 yard screamer. Tap in from Halls as the opener, Solihull so shocked they collapse defensively.
Ok I’m on the beers tonight, but come on you blues ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
