Finally we got a much-needed win against Solihull, but our attentions turn to the FA Trophy tomorrow. I say this every single year, but we really need to give it a good go and get as far as possible, as well as gaining financial rewards. Hopefully AFC Fylde may feel a little tired tomorrow, but it certainly won’t be an easy tie. Come On City! Score: Chester FC (Udoh) 1-2 AFC Fylde Attendance: 1,191 (84 AFC Fylde) COYB!

Getting the hang of this predicting lark now Rio. Well done.
I also predict a dire 0-1 defeat with Andy Halls getting Man of the Match and a crowd of 790.

The last 3 seasons we've been in a fairly comfortable position going into the first round so cup runs have been a priority, and they've by and large been a let down. Lots is usually said in the press and by managers in the run up the the first FA Cup and FA Trophy game about "how financially important it is to a club like ours to win cup games" and it seems to have an adverse effect on the players who usually bottle it.
2013-14 FA Cup - Knocked out first draw FA Trophy - Knocked out in first draw
2014-15 FA Cup - Stockport/Southend/Barnsley cup run FA Trophy - Knocked out in first draw after replay
2015-16 FA Cup - Knocked out in first draw FA Trophy - Knocked out in third draw
2016-17 FA Cup - Knocked out in first draw FA Trophy - Knocked out in second draw after making hard work of a replay with Witton Albion
2017-18 FA Cup - Knocked out in first draw
This year safety is the priority already (usually we capitulate after Christmas!) so it feels like less has been said about the importance of winning tomorrow. Hopefully this will have the opposite effect to usual and they won't freeze up, but then again this is Chester we're talking about.

Quite like the "play to a finish" idea. No incentive for Fylde to go for anything but a win. If we adopt the same approach, could make for entertaining cup-tie. Still can't see attendance over 1100 for the reasons we all know but sense a narrow win of 2-1

Chester 10 Fylde 0.
I am predicting this as I cant make this one and Wigan will have knackered out Fylde. Plus we are brilliant.

I'm going for 1-1 and we lose (as usual) on pens.

Can't be a draw. It's played to a finish. Extra time and penalties if required.

Remarkably quiet on here for 11.00 am on matchday morning.
Is anybody interested?
Is anybody actually going?
Anyway, for those with the remotest interest, current odds are
Chester. 19/10 Draw. 12/5 (90 mins) Fylde. 5/4

Yeah. We're going.
Just getting the snorkel and flippers ready now. . . .
Actually a proper wet, muddy pitch might affect their slick passing game, more than ours😂

We'll be selling the latest issue of the fanzine (#20) today. Still just £2, and a great stocking filler. We were shortlisted for Fanzine of the Year (again) this year too.

I think we'll scrape a 2-1 win in a poor game.

I'd like to see us create more attempts on goal than we managed last week, one or two was it?

Just three players in that starting lineup with squad numbers between 1 and 11. I think that sums up how much work Bignot has had to do with this team.

Looked the better side, Hannah would hsve put us a goal up were it not for an outstanding save.
The ref is awful, again.

Attendance is 880-odd.
Goats 1-0 down at home to Harrogate at half time.

There's been a head injury for Fylde so expect a fair bit of added on time.
