Sure I read on another forum that the next round is national, so the worst possible scenario is Dover (a). Alty still in too?

A fit and free scoring Ross Hannah is the key to dragging us away from the trap door. Spot on. I think we are going to have to rely on Hannah to have any chance of avoiding relegation. He's the only natural goal scorer we have and I can't see many goals coming from Akintunde, White, Archer and co.

Yes it usually is national from the next round, we lost to Forest Green in that round last season. I think that FGR defeat signalled the start of the 9 game undefeated run, which ended when Sam Hughes was moved to RB and we lost 5-2 (unluckily) to Lincoln City. I still maintain that if we'd kept Sam at CH marking Rhead we'd have won that game.

A fit and free scoring Hannah and you are probably right. The main problem with Hannah, is if he is not scoring he offers little else. If he could hold the ball up better, he would have played at a higher level. Akintude has a different problem, in that he holds the ball up pretty well, but needs to add goals to his game. Archer gives us something we badly lack, Physicality in the final third and as a targetman, I think eventually he will get goals. If we can just stay up this season. I think with the likes of Astle's, Jones, Gough and Dawson, added to this list, we will have the decent basis of a young squad, next season.

That was a decent performance yesterday.
We looked organised, if limited, for the full 120 minutes. Although Fylde had most of the possession, we had the best chances. Most of those came from 85 minutes onwards.
The keeper looked really good again. Except for the bad mistake for their second goal. Hopefully that's a one-off. Made a good one on one save after the mistake to redeem himself. He looks the best we've had this season.
Jones, Astles and Anderson looked fairly solid.
Hall-Thompson looks class going forward, and Gough did ok.
Midfield never really got going. Shaw wasn't involved. Dawson ran his nuts off, played some good balls, but gave it away a lot. James looked lost. As a unit we couldn't move the ball through midfield at all, and relied on long balls to chase.
Hannah looked a lot sharper and had a bit of the ball. Akintunde worked hard but little end result.
Not sure why Gough went off. Putting Halls on to replace him. Hall-Thompson moved to left back. James to right back and Halls in the middle. Shaw then went off with Turnbull coming on. Not sure about a back three and a deep midfielder, if the wing backs don't get forward much either. Leaves us with a back six at times.
Udoh came in for Akintunde. Ran around a bit, but he doesn't really look ready.
We did create chances from 85 minutes onwards, despite the back six. So even though we lost a lot of possession and sat really deep. You could argue it sort of worked.
We need to be realistic though. An important fact on yesterday's game is that we while played our strongest side, Fylde made 8 changes from the team that started at Wigan midweek. 3 of their side started that game, 6 were subs and 2 weren't even in the squad. That does put things into perspective.

However, when we played them in the FA Trophy we lost 2-0 back in January.

Just watched the highlights from yesterday and I must say for all his faults this season I really felt sorry for Andy Halls when under pressure he put away the winning pen and only 2 of his team mates seemed to congratulate him , do the players actually dislike him as much as some of the fans ?

We must take the positives from yesterday as there were signs of improvement and the team at least showed some character, with the penalty shoot being superb. The back three look really solid and overall the goalkeeper was good. Prior to the subs, defensively we were well organised, albeit very limited going forward and chronically lacking creativity. For the most part the front two had little service as we sat deep again, and other than Hall- Johnson there is very little pace or width in this team. With the introduction of Halls into midfield, and the resulting/unnecessary changes in formation we lost shape and became very unbalanced with large gaps on the left hand side and congestion on the right. Halls was totally ineffective , drifting around and seemingly wanting to play at right back just like last week. With turnbull coming we didn’t really function with a midfield at all for the last 15 minutes and retreated to the edge of our box waiting for their inevitable equaliser. The starting eleven was practically our strongest team, minus Mahon (is he still injured as he’s covered a lot on ground on the touchline the last 2 games ? ) and the introduction of a pair McCarthy’s journeymen summer signings showed just how poor this squad is. Bignot has found a defensive system which works but only if we have the first choice players on the pitch. Given that the defence is now unrecognisable from the shambles which started the season, it will be interesting to see what Bignot can do to improve the very weak Midfield, as this will be critical in achieving survival this season . Halifax will be a real test next week and be true indicator of the progress which has been made, and certainly somewhere where we need to be picking-up a point.

My second team is Leeds Utd and has been since mid-1960s. When we beat, nay annihilated them in 1975 it was and still is the best experience ever. I would say that the current Man City side are approaching how good Leeds were in 1972. Leeds Utd were virtually destroyed by Peter Ridsdale. They've also been owned by Ken Bates, so they've had their fair share of what we've suffered. They've put the £15m they got for Woods from Burnley towards the £20m needed to buy back their ground from a hedge fund. Hopefully they've got better times ahead.

I cannot remember to much about the game in 75 i was 13 at the time my father took me i was behind the goal open terrace if i recall, going to school the next day was bad i took some stick, risdale had a dream that did not pay off oleary did not help with some of his signings, but a mad few years real madrid and barca.couple years later im off to tranmere first game in Div 1,the 3 seasons in that Div was great proper fans and good old grounds to visit, love the championship it is a good league and i honestly do not miss the prem.

Not sure about injuries but am I right in thinking Hannah has now picked up 5 bookings. He won’t be suspended even if he was. According to the FA he has been suspended and will miss Saturdays match

According to the FA he has been suspended and will miss Saturdays match Bugger .... that'll lessen our chances of picking up 3 points. Isn't Archer fit yet? It's all a bit odd. The FA's latest disciplinary list shows several players who received a caution on Saturday as suspended (including Hannah) yet they also state that the cut-off date for receiving a sanction as a result of accumulating cautions in the National League is following 23 league fixtures. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if his 'ban' disappears later in the week
