I think Sharps was the biggest loss. I think the bigger loss was the missing 1,000 fans through the gate personally Na deffo think Sharps, since losing him we have been shipping goals. Fans don't stop goals.

Not sure what missing 1,000 fans you're referring to?

Nobody else was talking about season one to this season, otherwise rather debating whether Alabi, Hughes or Sharps will be the biggest loss they would have been discussing whether Sarcevic, Scott Brown, Heneghan or Hannah were the biggest loss. But to answer your question, our average attendance for season one was 2,382, so it's around 200. Factor in away fans (although I remember Chorley, Prescot Cables, Warrington and Skem bringing more fans than most of the teams this season have) then probably around 300.

Wow thanks for clarifying, I really don't know why I was worried about it so much, what with the projected 20k loss, the gates dropping, talk of playing squad being reduced in the summer....
Maybe I should worry about the important matters like litter in the South Stand, and the volume of Cleggy's PA System, I've obviously got my priorities all wrong

I was just calling you out on the fact that we haven't lost 1,000 fans since last season, nor since our reformation working on average attendances. I never said anything about not worrying about the actual drop in attendances and projected losses, as I too am extremely worried about it.

I never said anything about not worrying about the actual drop in attendances and projected losses, as I too am extremely worried about it. Of the 300 fans lost, 90% of them were probably jumping on the pheonix club bandwagon and when we stop winning every week they stopped coming. The other 10% are probably a mix of people that can't afford it, have new commitments. Don't want to ruffle any feathers but the amount of posts on the old DC about not being able to afford the match was ridiculous. If you can't afford it, then that's 1000% fair enough, but it's those people that tell you about the petrol costs, the price of a pie and pint at the blues bar and then say it costs them £40 a game and they cant afford it do my head in. A pie and pint isn't a necessity of going to a game, and petrol costs money. I also get fed up of people that ''can't afford'' the game but can afford to spend all night Friday down the pub and smoke 20 a day, because it's a choice they make that means they can't afford it. *duck and cover*

We've lost more than 300 regulars.
2010-2011 = 2382 2011-2012 = 2789 2012-2013 = 2579 2013-2014 = 2366 2014-2015 = 2270 2015-2016 = 2199 2016-2017 = 1857 so far
So between 2011/12 and now we've LOST 932 supporters through the door ON AVERAGE.

The 1857 was calculated before Wrexham and Gateshead, it's now 2003 which will be 2100+ come the end of the season. So I'll accept we've lost 700 from our attendance height to now, but your 1,000 in a season, 1,000 since reformation and 1,000 since 2011/12 claims have all been wrong. I can't be arsed arguing this point anymore because at the end of the day the attendances are still a concern whichever way you look at it, I just don't like people making up figures because they've got an axe to grind.

Sorry axe to grind?
I don't have any axe to grind, but it is clear from those figures that have lost a large number of fans. If we had retained most of those 2700+ supporters how many do you think we would be averaging now given the higher number of away supporters we have?
You quote 2-300 fans, I said 1,000. We are relying on away supporters to boost our average attendance to the 2,100 mark whereas before that the 2,700+ from Season 2 was primarily home supporters with few away fans bar Chorley, FCUM and Northwich Vics
I still maintain that we have slowly lost on average 1,000 regular paying home supporters over since reformation. That's not me having an axe to grind, that's me concerned about the alarming drop we have seen over the past 5 years.
