How do people have such good memories? I can barely remember who we played last nevermind in April sometime in the mid 90's I struggle to remember teams and results from this season. I think my long-term memory is better than short-term.

Spencer Whelan's goal from the half way line is one of my requests, can't remember who it was against but it definitely came off his shin! Sometime in the 90's i was only young at the time... Was that at Macclesfield the year they came into the league and went straight up again. A lock out at their ground as well

Great scenes

What were his 2 goals against Preston like then, my memory is a very similar goal to that being scored in front of a packed away end, i'm still sure it was against Preston. But maybe as the two games were relatively close together the memories of both games have merged into one?

[br Seem to remember there being a coach load of Barnet fans on the away end as their away match had been postponed and the Deva was closest for a footy fix

Micheal Twiss scored a cracker in front of the cameras but i can't remember who we were playing. Also McGinn v Northwich, remember being in a packed harry mc seeing him running with the ball and me shouting "shoot" the rest is history So we have you to thank then for that title??

Our 2 goals up at Roker Park in our 2-0 win against Sunderland in the league - just to make sure I haven't dreamt it. We got battered that day. Couldn't pick between Mike Stowell, the goalpost and the crossbar for our MOM all three had blinders.

I wanted to see Junior Agogo's goal at home to Cheltenham Town (Messi-esq solo run) and a stunner away to Lincoln in 99-00 which I finally managed to find a couple of years ago (on a Agogo goals video).
That leaves Nick Richardson's Beckham-esq free kick away at Shrewsbury also in 99-00 which of course led to our only ever away win at Gay Meadow as the one I really would like to see.
As for Steve Whitehall....every goal he scored seemed to as good as Dennis Bergkamps best. What a touch that lad had!

I mis-read this originally as "Goats", I thought what a weird thread ;-) Can't remember the opponents, but Alex Smith's long ranger on his return game to the club, and when Spencer Whelan scored from the halfway line. A more recent one from one of our 1st friendlies since we reformed, Peers's Beckham esque goal against Aberystwyth if I recall I think Alex Smith's goal was v Barnet and it was an absolute belter! Ryan Lowe scored a wondergoal away to Darlington as well in the late 2000s. Corker! Bringing back some fantastic memories this thread I must say. The "Goals" video released about 6 years ago is a must for Chester fans I reckon. Really does bring some fond memories flooding back....the scenes on the Harry Mac terrace when we scored in those days were a sight to behold. Jimmy Haarhoff v Macc, Marcus Richardson v Darlo (4-4) and loads of late goals in the Conference led to scenes of utter bedlam in the crowd.

Jimmy Hulme's goal after 9minutes at Old Trafford, 3rd round of the cup, 1966*. David Coleman,on Grandstand apparently said,"Flash From Old Trafford, Manchester united 0 Chester 1. I'll just check that." Cheeky beggar.
Come to think about it, I would not mind seeing Hughie Rydens shot rattle the crossbar 5 minutes prior to the goal. Or the series of flying saves made by Dennis Reeves as ManU pressed in the second half, with Bobby Charlton slicing through our defence like a hot knife through butter. Would NOT like to see Best's offside equaliser nor Albert Kinsey's shove on Ray Jones to make room for him to toe end an equaliser (he went on to play for Wrexham, sums him up!).
* 1966 - not a bad year to be a Chester and England supporter AND I was 18 with my whole life ahead of me - anyone know of a second hand time machine for sale?

Sarcevic away at Colwyn Bay. Sublime. Rooney free kick vs the Goats was special and McGinn vs Northwich... could see it arrowing into the top corner right towards me.

Stuart Mason at Villa Park This is the goal that immediately sprang to my mind - if only to prove / disprove that it was as good as I recall I would love to see it for the same reason . If i remember correctly , a long clearance from defence sailed over his head and fell perfectly for him to strike it on the volley from about 30 yards . I was in the Holte end and and jumped up and down excitedly amongst the home supporters . Most of our fans were behind the goal that he planted the ball in but we had supporters in all four sides of the ground and it wasnt till that equaliser that i realised how much support we had taken there . the game was televised but havent seen the goal for nearly 40 years . considering the level of opposition (div 2 ) and us ( div 4 ) it must be one of the finest goals ever scored by a Chester FC player in front of 47000 spectators .

I remember Neil Fisher going on a mazy run and curling one in from the edge of the box once. No idea who it was against. Did he have 2 spells with the club? I remember him playing sweeper for half a season and him being a revelation or did I just dream it?
