Just been listening to the T2 Trainspotting soundtrack after watching the film on Sunday. The scene with Blondie "Dreaming" in it will remind all people of a certain age just how good chart music used to be. Ditto The Clash "White Man In Hammersmith Palais". Rest is a bit meh.

Enjoying the new Cloud Nothings album. Trying to get into the new XX album but I think I like the singers' voices more than the songs themselves.

I've a few gigs coming up.....Omni, Grandaddy and The Wytches in Manchester. Most looking forward to Thee Oh Sees at Manchester University in June though with Mogwai in Glasgow later in the year also going to be a corker.
Mainly listening to Thee Oh Sees and The Slits at the minute.

Saw The Wytches last summer, in Hoylake of all places! Also excellent live.

I wasn't aware The Wytches had played Hoylake? Whereabouts was this? As a Wirral resident I'm unsure as to how I missed that!

Looking forward to the return of Gorrilaz later this year - they've just released their first single for five years and have a new album coming out later in 2017.

Just stuck Band Of Horses Acoustic at the Ryman on the turntable here. Great Sunday hangover music.
They were outstanding in the Albert Hall in Manchester last year.

New Sleaford Mods album came out on Friday, anyone into them? Can't quite make my mind up on them myself, but they seem increasingly relevant and necessary. One of not many bands articulating the current crapness of Britain.

Off to watch Postmodern Jukebox on Sunday night. Something a bit different. They put on a cracking show when I saw them last year.

I've sadly listened to this gwar, and his music, like Adeles is just dreary and depressing, don't know how it's popular unless we have a nation of depressives.
