Can I also offer my deepest condolences to Gary's family and friends at this time. To hear a fellow fan went to a match and didn't go home after it is indeed extremely sad news.

Couldn't bring myself to post about this until now. Made me feel numb watching the attempts to save him.
I'm in two minds on whether or not the match should have started and I understand the quandary that the officials and club were in.
There's not much I can add apart from my thoughts for the family. RIP

i sort of knew garry he was a nice chap and loved the club so much and had time to chat to anyone in the blues bar
nice fitting tribute from his son on facebook yesterday and lovely words from his daughter on twitter
his grandson was with him at the time my heart goes out to him who will probably remember friday night for the rest of his life
one thing we cant fault is the effort from st johns plus paramedics and stewards to try and revive our fellow blue
sleep well fellow blue you will be missed
only one garry allen

Terrible news. I knew of Garry from him working at Sticky Walnut. I believe from his work colleagues he was a smashing, larger than life bloke. Football pales into insignificance at such tragic events.

Only right that the club and the family work together to arrange such memorials. The rest of us will happily follow the wishes of the family.

Just come back from Skiing, in Scotland and heard the news. I went to school, with Gary.
There was no bigger Chester fan.
I remember we skipped school, to go to the away game, in Newcastle, during the 1974/5, cup run to the semi's.
Then having to face the wrath of the teachers, on our return.
So, very, very sad. Condolences to the family.

Shocked to hear about Garry. I knew Garry from years ago and although hadn't seen him so much in recent times it was always like it was only last week when our paths crossed. Remember us driving down to Colchester together for a Tuesday night game in the 70's. Met up with the other Chester fans at the game, we totalled nine!

Just a reminder that those wishing to attend Garrys funeral is 2:40 tomorrow at the crematorium. We would love to see as many blues there as possible.
