Crowd as 551 with 94 Blues. After we can see our accounts there must be a massive massive backing at Borehamwood. The losses there must be eye watering.

I had a vague recollection of nobody wanting Lowestoft a few years ago (and who would). They ended up in the Conference North due to geographical split, but now play in the Isthmian League. That's because they were relegated. I'm well aware of that. Have you missed the point of this discussion, which was about geographical location and which league you play in?

If three Northern clubs go down . . . us, Guiseley and Barrow . . . will we all be in National League North? Definitely, a Club currently in the North less north to us will be booted out to the South. Over the last few years I'm sure this has happened to Solihull. Any chance of us being in the south so I and others down here can watch a few games. Some on here seem to be pleased that they will only have to travel locally now.....I trust this small club syndrome is a passing phase. We need to think big!

It's possible Wrexham could bottle the play offs before even getting into the play offs! teams around them have games in hand too. Every year they bottle it Back to Boreham Wood, including the youth game, we've beaten them 6-5 on aggregate this week!

That was a decent game today played in boiling hot conditions. By my count it was 18C which I wasn’t expecting at all. Although I dislike Boreham Wood quite a lot, I must say how nice the pitch was. It was immaculate and I can’t believe how it’s stayed in that condition since August. I’m guessing it is a Desso pitch, but it was still in an amazing condition.
I think the sweltering heat had an affect on the players though. We wasted a few chances and made most of our passes go astray in general.
In the first half I thought that we coped well. We moved the ball around well on the surface and played some nice stuff at times. In the second half we were rather tired. Boreham Wood played to their strengths and deserved the win in the end. It was nice to have a couple of goals to cheer today so the scoreline could look a bit more respectable. Both of Akintunde’s goals were well-taken, neat finishes and I applaud him for that. It’s too late but at least we are scoring a bit more now. Previously we were on a barren drought, but it’s 5 goals in 2 games now which is a positive that we can take.
I’m currently in my hotel now as I’m staying overnight. It was a bit of a coincidence to see the Hipkiss park up in my hotel’s car park this afternoon.
Huge credit must go to Calum McIntyre and his staff for being part of the coaching team today. They deserve huge respect for helping us out whilst we are searching for a new manager.

We were always going to struggle against a team who were quick on the break and had pace due to the fact our whole back 4 is made up of centre backs. But at least we didn’t give up, everyone get down to the deva next week to see this awful season out.

No I didn't miss the point of the discussion. Their problem is that they are out on a limb and so far east that whichever league they are in they will always be isolated . They are now at Step 3 after being relegated from Conference North (Step 2). They are a team (like Workington & Truro) who will always have to travel much further than anyone else.

I thought we did alright today overall, though Boreham Wood were the better side and deserved it. Akintunde played well. I liked it when White went off (hooray) and Brown came on because then Vose dropped into the middle and was quite good at getting things moving, though was also frustrating at times. Cunningham looked decent too, first time I've seen him. The defence was pretty fragile - which is understandable. The pen was a terrible decision.

Boiling hot at 18C? What do you do when it gets to 20C+? Your name is Rio, very tropical, embrace the scorchio! In all seriousness though, the weather today was pleasant.

I can only think he has some dodgy pictures of the coaching team or something. Makes Kevin Rapley look like Zico.

Thought we did ok today, not enough to get anything but the final score line was a bit harsh. We had some decent chances in the first half, the likes of Roberts, Vose, Crawford, Akintunde & Mahon linked up well. We conceded a very soft looking penalty just before half time and started slowly after the break as well which just left us a bit too far behind. Can’t say that anyone at the back covered themselves in glory. The first half was the best I’ve seen of Craig Mahon for a long time, hugged the right touchline with Aki, Crawford & Vose pinging it out to him almost every time. His final ball was lacking a few times though and when he cut inside looking for a shot it too often found a block. Nathan Brown was lively when he came on but I didn’t think we looked for him enough. I’ve a bit of a soft spot for Akintunde, he took his two goals well today and had another decent game. He definitely has ability but needs some good coaching to fine tune his game. He often does good work but holds on to the ball a bit too long. On the flip side absolutely nothing came off for Harry White, can’t knock the lad for trying but every time the ball came to him it then bounced five yards away back to the opposition. Alex Downes was brought on late, to be honest I’m not sure he’s ready mind you he looked a bit nervous, was given a VERY rough ride even in such a short space of time. Looked at fault for the last and slipped in the box when they should have scored another. The experience will do him good though, certainly not knocking the lad. Overall, some good promising attacking play, we knocked it about quite well in the main but our defending was less than impressive. Boreham Wood had two goals ruled out for offside. Was bloody warm out in the sun down there, today was Summer 2018 folks, hope you enjoyed it!

What the hell was Harry White doing starting over Brown yesterday? White will be gone in a month’s time. Let’s develop Brown and give him game time.

National League Highlights: Some good finishing from Akintunde there and good work from Crawford and Cunningham. I really hope Crawford is tied down next season I know he's going to go on to bigger and better things but I think at least 1 or 2 more years here will be beneficial for both him and the Club as he will be more open to first team football here.

That doesn't look like a penalty. Still it wasn't very good defending and neither were the third and fourth goals. First is a good strike to be fair.
Nicely taken goals for us. I think people are harsh on Akintunde. Young lad, works hard, decent touch and a good finisher. He's the sort of player I could see signing for Macc or even Accrington and doing well.

I was just thinking the very same yesterday Lobster. We were expecting great things from James this season, but it's been a massive failure. His 2 goals on Saturday made me think Coleman or Askey would get close to 20 goals a season out of him. Also of the 80-ish goals we'll have conceded this season more than half of them were caused by weak defending, which we weren't conceding when Sam Hughes was partnering Ryan Astles in defence. In the 10 or so games when those two were at the heart of the defence we conceded 1 goal.
