That doesn't look like a penalty. Still it wasn't very good defending and neither were the third and fourth goals. First is a good strike to be fair. Nicely taken goals for us. I think people are harsh on Akintunde. Young lad, works hard, decent touch and a good finisher. He's the sort of player I could see signing for Macc or even Accrington and doing well. I was just thinking the very same yesterday Lobster. We were expecting great things from James this season, but it's been a massive failure. His 2 goals on Saturday made me think Coleman or Askey would get close to 20 goals a season out of him. Also of the 80-ish goals we'll have conceded this season more than half of them were caused by weak defending, which we weren't conceding when Sam Hughes was partnering Ryan Astles in defence. In the 10 or so games when those two were at the heart of the defence we conceded 1 goal. The way he played at times on Saturday is the way he should be looking to play every week, give a pass and go for the return, he holds on to the ball too long and try’s to beat to many players before losing the ball. A good coach could bring out the player within , I think he could be worth a punt in in the league below at the right price.

To expect him to take a wage-cut might be difficult. He probably needs to go to a club where he will get will get the right coaching. He's never received it with us. I wish him luck and it's a shame he was here under McCarthy and Bignot.

Football is not like other jobs he is out of contract so we just offer what we can afford, it would be up to him if he took it or not.

There will possibly be better options out there for him.
It was stated on another thread that none of our lot had relegation clauses, which was gross misconduct for whoever was responsible for drawing them up.
