A very poor turnout by the Halifax supporters. A coach had been booked and subsidised at £7 per head, but only 20 people booked, therefore the coach was cancelled and used for York Races instead, according to the Skircoat Shed Forum. Great support for our Youngsters very impressive.

Great support for our Youngsters very impressive. To be fair, I think the terrible season our first team has had has led our fans to take a greater interest in the youth team than we normally would. If we'd had an OK-ish season like Halifax did, I think we would only have taken a similar number.

Halifax were no mugs. A very athletic and technically gifted group of players. Our lads were simply better organised, showed more passion and were fully deserving of their win. Superb stuff. I too didn't think there was much in it, quality wise, although I think you had one or to more players of better quality. I think the main difference was the boost your terrific support gave to your team. Your little number 10 was great, best described as "mercurial". I also wonder what might have been if we'd brought on our number 17 at half time, he looked a very powerful player who can't be far off the first team on that showing. Overall thought, you deserved the win on pitch and off it. Well done Chester, and all the best next season, hope to see you back in 2019.

Sat next to a lady from Halifax who had been following her club for 69 years. She had driven there by herself and explained that she liked to go on the club coach but that for midweek games the coach did not run if bookings were low.
She had been to all first team home matches this season and only missed one away game at Aldershot as it was her brothers 80th birthday. The away matches included a drive to Dover and back on a Tuesday night arriving home very tired at 3.00 am.
A credit to her club and genuine football supporters everywhere.

Do you have any players progressing from your academy to the first team?

I thought there was quite a bit in it. I just thought that the the performance should be measured against the fact that your lads were no mugs. The Chester lads dared to create and open up the game because they knew if they lost the ball 10 other blues would want to win it back. At the same time, they weren't headless chickens and they kept good discipline, not getting pulled into places where they would be exposed by your pace. We got behind you so many times, whilst you had to resort to potshots from 25 yards. We were far, far more creative and flexible in shape due to a team understanding. No animosity intended mate.

Has anyone got a list of all the cups and leagues our various Youth and Ladies teams have won this year? Seemed to be every month one of them was winning something!

Yeah I’d like to know this as well, completely lost track. It seems the CFC Academy Twitter must have read our minds (or our posts). They've just tweeted this:
National League U19 Alliance Cup Champions 🏆🔵
National League U19 Alliance North West Division Champions 🏆🔵
North West Youth Alliance Premier Division Champions 🏆🔵
North West Youth Alliance Premier Division Cup Champions 🏆🔵
North West Youth Alliance Open Cup (20/5/18)
The Womens team won the league and cup double too.
