Welcome back to the last match thread of the season, as tomorrow we play away at Barrow in what will be our last match in the National League for another season at least. I was really pleased with how we played against Maidstone last weekend. We may have lost but the younger players especially put in a lot of effort. I’m not sure whether the likes of Matty Thomson and Cain Noble will travel tomorrow morning, but if they do it would be a good test for them. Obviously Barrow are in a big relegation scrap with Woking who play against Dover. Barrow have the advantage but it will still be a nervy game from there point of view. I think Barrow will stay up although it could be anyone really. They do have a lot of money behind them with that American bloke Casson in charge but have still struggled, which is a complete contrast to Macclesfield Town.
I doubt our new manager will be named before tomorrow, but it will be interesting to know if we travels up to Cumbria to watch us. With it being our last game I’m sure a fair few players in our squad will be playing there last games for Chester too. To be honest the current squad has put in more effort than the squad who started this season which speaks volumes. Thankfully this dreadful season is almost over now. I’m just looking ahead to next year now in the North with a new man in charge.
I will be travelling up to Cumbria early tomorrow morning as it’s our last game. Also I will be stopping over again!
The pressure will all be on Barrow tomorrow afternoon so hopefully we can bow out of the National League on a brighter note. Come On City! Score: Barrow 2-1 Chester FC (Brown) Attendance: 2,651 (119 Chester) COYB!

I can only see this game going like the rest of the season 2-0 loss for me

I hope Barrow win this and Kingsley puts in Messi-esque performance scoring a hat-trick.
Mr Casson is so impressed that he offers £100k for the permanent signing of KJ.
And our nemesis Woking get relegated, ha ha!

Barrow win 1-0 with a Kingsley James stoppage time tap-in from a corner. Woking cry foul. Chester get done for match fixing...

I’ve got hospitality tickets for this one, as I live and work in barrow, so here’s my conundrum do I wear suited and booted for this one, as I’m with work or sod it and go for jeans and city shirt 😂 and risk a bollocking!

If you've got hospitality you should opt for shabby chic. Not sure why you'd want to wear a City shirt. You could wear a Chester FC one though.

I assume we've got a responsibility to put out our strongest team in this one and not experiment with the kids. Or you could argue our kids are our strongest team!

Well I hope Barrow win and stay up, so we don't have to compete with another team with money in the north.

Glad I’m not a Barrow fan today, think how nervous you would be. Thankfully, we confirmed our relegation weeks ago!

I hope we are the absolute shithouses who turn the form table upside down on the last day. There's always a shock result somewhere.

Guiseley 1-0 down. Hopefully we at least won’t finish bottom.
