Case of the boy who cried wolf with Neymar. He dives about that much, he doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt. He’s a grade one twat no sympathy from me he has spent 14 minutes rolling around on the ground before tonight’s game apparently, he has been given a gift and he just wastes it with his attitude, when he told the ref in the last game to take his hands off him, unbelievable arrogance. Agree. World football is better off with him out. Cheating git.

Not all contact is a penalty. In this case the ball was well out of play before any contact. Agree, it’s another “seen them given”, not an obvious error. VAR should only be there for the likes of the Maradona handball, ones where everyone can agree it was a refereeing error. I also think there’s an element of self-fulfilling prophecy about how much VAR is getting “right”. Refs and linesmen are holding off on giving decisions because they know VAR can pick it up if they got it wrong. It means that probable penalties like the one we saw last night are not being given, and that VAR is not getting involved because it’s not a “clear and obvious” error. Still don’t like VAR, but I’m sensing I’m in the minority now. I think it’s a slippery slope towards turning football from a simple, fast-paced game into a microanalysed American-style one.

I know its late notice but wouldn't it be great to have one of those fan parks in Chester on Wednesday night either at the ground or Grosvenor park by the river

Obviously I didn’t watch it but I’m absolutely delighted with that result. I also enjoyed the England-themed music played by Cleggy which brought us all together. Fantastic day all round!

The tournament has proven beyond doubt that VAR is the way forward. The WC has been fast paced and at no time had it been disrupted. At our level the cost factor is of course prohibitive.

Disgraceful the way football supporters are treated.

Most comfortable I’ve ever felt watching England in a tournament today, that result was never in doubt. Sweden had a few chances in the second half but never really looked like putting one in, I was a bit of a wreck in midweek but today was different.
Mixed reviews for Sterling but thought he was good myself, you have to take him for what he is. He’s very good off the ball making good runs and causing some panic but can’t deny that his decision making and final ball does often let him down. The likes of Pickford, Maguire and Trippier were good, but that’s to be expected of those lads by now.
Kane had a quiet afternoon but I thought he produced a fantastic selfless performance. He was pivotal dropping a bit deep and really helped us keep possession when we needed it. He won a lot of free kicks and I noticed he was always available for a pass, on a few occasions in really good positions. Refreshing to see when certain others are all about making it about themselves.

BBC Sport website are doing an "as live" video broadcast and text updates of the England-West Germany semi final at Italia '90 as I type. You can contribute too.
Let's hope for a better ending on Wednesday night!

I'm sorry but You don't see Tennis fans jumping on Ambulances or on top of buses, or steaming into IKEA mob handed when a british tennis player wins.

France - Belgium tonight or a mini Premier League match. It should be a good one. England have done unbelievable to get this far and on paper I would think the cup winner is from the game tonight. I think France will edge it, Belgium despite having Kompany and Alderwield looked very shaky against Japan and Brazil. Greizmann and Mbappe will be too much.

Yeah I think both sides will feel that in terms of winning the tournament, tonight is the biggest remaining test. Tough to pick a winner. I find I'm leaning toward Belgium but France are more than capable of beating anybody.

It’s sad to see us go out tonight after such a brilliant tournament for us. We battled well until Croatia came out on top in extra time, although we seemed to have a sense of tiredness in us.
However, we can go home with our heads held high after going so far and so close. Hardly any of us thought that we would get to the semi’s, but throughout this tournament our player’s have shown bags of endeavour, heart and pride which has really galvanised us as a nation and brought us all together.
Now is a great chance for this group of players to come back stronger and build on a new chapter in our history. With our squad being young in age, they have the potential to be playing for England for quite a while which is important for their morale. Our future is looking very bright, and in Gareth Southgate we have a great manager who can learn and build on this. Hopefully this will be the start of a fresh dawn for us which could be the start of something special. I, for one, have certainly enjoyed our journey in this World Cup.

That was very disappointing we got what we deserved which was nothing. Really? I thought we deserved to be at least 2 up by half time. Croatia only started to play after they scored - the second half was pretty scrappy overall. There was a lot to be pleased with about our performance. The whole pub applauded at the end where I was. That certainly doesn't always happen with England.

Mixed feelings after that one. I think we would all have taken a semi-final at the start of the tournament, but with the way it all panned out and the way the first half went, it did feel like this was THE chance for England to at least reach a final. Think we just panicked a bit and didn’t play well in the second half, but really this lot have shown up the supposed ‘Golden Generation’ and Croatia are a good side to be fair. Would be nice to see them win on Sunday and add a new name to the trophy.

Lack of a quality creative midfielder has cost us and also too reliant on Kane who has faded as the tournament has progressed. Vardy as plan B is not the answer. I hope Sterling doesn't become the scapegoat. Not a big fan but we have looked better with him on the pitch. Would have taken quarter final before it started but shame we got found out against a pretty ordinary Croatia team

I would have liked us to have asked more questions of their keeper in that game. Two shots on target in 120 mins isn't great. Even at 2-1 we never really looked like creating anything significant.
Kane put in a Euro 16 anonymous shift which didn't help us and I still think Sterling offers minimal threat.
We went out with a bit of a whimper and I'm disappointed by that.

Again we didnt create enough from open play in the 120 minutes. Also, at whatever level of football if you dont put your chances away, when on top, it can come back to haunt you. We are over reliant on Harry Kane, who didnt have the best of nights.I have my reservations about Sterling, but I can now see what he brings to the team: pace and movement. And looked weaker when Rashford and Vardy came on. In the second half we started to get pushed back and didnt have the expereience to see the game out.

All credit to the team they outlived my expectations and can come home proud with what they have achieved, was it just me but they looked tired and heavy legged just before half time ? When they came out after half time they sat deep and just allowed Croatia to come onto them and gave them far to much space and the inevitable happened, out of all the matches they have played I have never seem them look so tired.

I thought Rashford would have been better starting than Sterling but every time he's come on he's added very little. Agree about Harry Kane, no wonder the 'experts' were questioning whether he'd got a injury/medical issue. Young under pressure for a huge amount if time and didn't cope too well. how many times did we pass back to the keeper, at times putting him under unnecessary pressure. I started off trying to count how many times Henderson passed square or back but soon gave up there were so many. so, disappointment at the opportunity missed, but they've restored pride in the England team

Harry Kane far too deep. Unfortunately his captaincy prevented the manager from doing the sensible thing and bring him off. His left foot went missing completely when through on goal. TWICE. Whatever happened to being able to use both feet? Kyle Walker waited for the ball to come to him rather than attack the cross, which allowed that split second for Croatia to equalise. It had been coming and the manager failed to prepare for it . Back three worked well when fresh but Southgate failed to support them as they tired. Look at how Modric only came into the game late on as England tired.
