If you can't take it don't dish it out ~ simple. I used to think you were one of the less confrontational posters. Don't worry fella. I can take it. I think you're confusing puzzlement and hurt. That's 2 things you are wrong about...Sterling & me. Ok so you're a Sterling fan. I hope I'm eating humble pie on Saturday and he's scored the winner. No hard feelings!

He doesn't have to score on Saturday to prove you wrong or not, he isn't there to score goals particularly, but to occupy defenders and allow others to score. If he does score it is a bonus. Defenders are terrified of the threat of his pace.

People on a forum saying a man who has just scored 18 goals and 11 assists in the premier league has no footballing brain. You couldn't write it Compared to someone like Ineista, Hazard, Mertens etc. He hasn't. Scoring goals in the Premier is far different. to being consistently good on the International stage. That is why they are world class and he isn't or haven't you noticed? At no point in your original post were you comparing him to iniesta or in mine I said he was world class, or haven’t you noticed? the point you made was all he has is ‘pace’ and no footballing brain. Which is an outrageous statement to make about a player performing as well as he is at the highest level. Agreed he could be playing a lot better for England but hopefully then performances will come with age or maybe one day when he plays in his preferred position.

I'd like him to play and score if only to ram it right up them racist tools Out of order Mark. You sound like one of the lesser desireables from Blacon and I am from Blacon but no chip on my shoulder mate. No wonder Blacon equals H Block equals stereotype. You're better than that mate cos I know you. Get back on the Board and take away the bitterness eh? You add so much value to our Club ! I havent a clue who you are, and have less of a clue what you are on about? The Daily Mail and the Sun have ran an orchestrated campaign to undermine Raheem Sterling over the last year, culminating in an online article following Emglands win the other night. In my opinion this campaign is race related. I abhor both papers. How is my stating that I hope that the player scores a goal in a World Cup quarter final to prove them wrong in any way related to i) My being from and living in Blacon ii) My being a "desirable" person iii) H Block (I sit in P block with my son and father in law...!) iv) Chester FC (my involvement or otherwise) Check your meds pal.

Can't wait to have some football to talk about. What a strange thread this has become... I honestly think some people have gone a bit potty in all the hot weather, with some of these recent threads. I mean, it can be tedious on here at the best of times, but recently it's been a new level of drivel!
Doesn't help that people aren't using the quote function correctly either, despite a recent thread detailing exactly how it works.

Speaking to a Man City fan during the Colombia game, he reckons even when Stirling isn't playing well, he helps drag players out of position and create more space for his team mates.
I think maybe he's a player who you notice more when he's not playing.
This. His pace drags players out of position and keeps defenders worried. That worried he runs straight into them and gets dispossessed because he has nowhere else to go.

Do you actually believe the conspiracy theory crap you post or is it just some stereotypical bullshit you feel you ought to post because you're just so right on? Fully believe it Chief. Good to have beliefs. Read up on Lord Rothermere and Adolf Hitler. The owners were Nazi sympathisers and now run the vile click bait cesspool in a way that I believe echoes their ancestors. Would they hound a white player in the same way the night he played in an England team that had just qualified for a World Cup quarter final, five minutes after the winning penalty? I am English. I support England. Regardless of who is wearing the shirt. They don’t.

Sterling could be a brilliant player but frustrates the life out of me. His decision making and finishing are poor when he has time to think. Much better when he reacts instinctively. But in a team which is short on creativity and quality in general, he should start IMO. No doubt he worries the opposition and creates space for other players.

Very much an instinct and confidence player.

Well that went well then, he really frustrates the life out of me two 1v1s with the goal keeper fails to pass the ball when players are in a better position and runs into defenders like a steam train.
Don't get me wrong I like the guy his pace is awesome but he lacks the final vision, I wish he would pick his fecking head up and pass the bloody ball earlier, I almost felt sorry for him today when he was 1v1 because he looked like a duck out of water and clueless what to do next.

So because the Mail and Sun dare to criticise Sterling it has to be racist. I presume they have also 'undermined' the other black players then. Some people love to find a reason to be offended.

Both papers are known xenophobic, jingoistic toilet rags to be fair, but it doesn't mean their criticism of Sterling specifically is necessarily racist. It might be, it might not, I wouldn't personally know because I avoid both papers print and online media like the disgusting plague that they are.

A very good fiend of mine reads the Daily Heil and whenever we go anywhere together I tell him no to bring that vile rag with him because I don't want that filth in my car. As Mark (NWAS) suggested I read up the on the nazi Rothermere family and Dacre (editor) and they are the type of people that repulse me. I've tried telling people who read the Heil that it is all the things described above but none of them seem to listen. I never bought either newspaper, except the day after we beat Leeds 3-0 I bought every newspaper I could including the Sun. I was so excited to read very report, even though I'd been to the match. BTW Sterling played better yesterday, but he still spurned a chance to put the game to bed in the first half.

Sterling works hard, makes good runs in behind but hasn’t had much final product to date. The problem we have is, nobody could play that role as well. The only sensible replacement for Sterling would probably be Rashford, but that gives you another problem IMO. Sterling likes to drop deep, run in behind, go wide. Rashford likes to go wide and run in behind, but certainly isn’t a fan of dropping into central midfield at picking up the ball. Playing him over Sterling could result in Kane having to drop deep to accommodate play styles and I know I’d rather have my top striker in the box. Granted, Kane drops deep anyway a lot of the time which allowed midfield runners, but for me Rash and Kane isn’t a partnership, Kane and Sterling could work if Sterling works his end product.

Another good display from Sterling but again woefully lacking in front of goal. Would have loved for him to get one for his confidence.
On to the Semi.

His pace and technique in small areas gives other players so much space. His finishing has been woeful, but he is invaluable to the way the team plays. Up the England.
