I despair, I really do.
Anyone who feels compelled to cause criminal damage just because their side is losing needs to take a look at themselves.
Not sure what the bill will be to the club, but these idiots have undone some of the good work of our fundraising committee.

Probably the same loons that were hugging the players at the end of the match.

Don’t remember seeing anyone causing any damage? Anyone else see anything or know what happened

Those who cause criminal damage should where possible be identified, prosecuted and banned. I am though curious why has it taken nearly a week for this news to be made public and surely its quite simple to indentify the full nature and extent of the damage, and the potential cost to the Club ? The last time such an idiotic incident took place at wrexham, the damage was made plain to supporters immediately afterwards. Also whilst not in any way excusing such behaviour on Saturday, I was surprised for such a large concourse (I assume that this was where the damage took place?) and with a good number of fans, there appeared to be very little stewarding these areas .

Jesus wept, why can't people just take a defeat like a man rather than spitting the dummy out and vandalising an opposition ground? Madness.

Sadly little chance of these scrotes being identified after the event. If you know who they are have a word, not that they are likely to listen. You feel sorry for all who work so hard to try to make us a self sufficient fan owned community club. Once again a few dragging our club down. If you are reading this you are not wanted home or away, you cost too much both in terms of finance and reputation.

If they don't, what use is CCTV and why is it compulsory in football stadium's.

I am not sure but are you allowed cctv in toilets, probably not. One reason for the delay would be that monday was a bank holiday so Telford would not have notified us until the situation was clarified and cost was estimated. Then,we do not have a football secretary at the moment so there may have been a delay in opening the email, then the board had to put together a response. Not everything is instant, apart from vandalism. Like it or not we are getting a bad reputation for this sort of thing and it needs to be stamped out now! Someone must have seen something, this is your club, this is costing you money. Let the club know who is doing it, lets stamp it out.

I completely fail to understand the logic of a bill to Chester FC. It is absolutely nothing to do with Chester. In a free and democratic society it is the fault only of the individuals involved, and it is up to the home club to identify and prosecute those individuals. If their CCTV and stewarding isn’t up to the task what has that got to do with Chester? I’m absolutely sick of this scapegoating of clubs in a free society. Does that mean I can buy a Wrexham shirt and cause havoc at an away match and it’s all wrexham’s fault? If someone borrows their mum’s car and gets caught for speeding, is it all mum’s fault?

Disagree, its everything to do with OUR club. They were OUR fans, doing something they probably thought (wrongly) was in our name. Free society isn't just about individual responsibility it is also about collective responsibility, or at least it should be.

Getting to the point now where you have to question our fan base. In a fortnight we've been verbally abusing our managers, players and players family in the stands. We've damaged opposition stadium, resulting in a bill for OUR club.
Anyone would think some people don't want a club.

Do you not understand the concept of possession, ownership, and possessive pronouns. The club does not own anyone who chooses to be a fan. They are not “OUR fans”, they are fans of “OUR club”. i.e. no possession of them, either in person or by action, by the football club.

I went for a Geoff Hurst after the final whistle and there was no damage that I could see. Surely if urinals etc were smashed I'd of noticed. How can we be certain this wasn't damaged after the game by idiots that break in like smack heads. Just saying

These are probably the same people that complain when we don't sign another striker. Well done. You've just cost us that money.
When we take 300 to away games, there isn't any problem. When we take 500+ to away games, there quite often is. Looks like it's the extra day out crowd that go to games for different reasons than the rest of us.
These people ruin the good name of our club. They also stop us from getting new people don't to games, because of the bad publicity it causes.
If Telford have CCTV pictures of the culprits, they should send them to the club and local press.

If the club can positively identify any culprits from Chester via CCTV and PROVE they caused the damage then they should be banned for life from home and away games. If they are proved to be Chester "fans" then these people don't deserve to be associated with this fan owned club in any way shape or form. Frustration and anger at our results and the players and management is not in any way a mitigating factor.

Almost feels like they’re saying we’re not in a good position to even pay it given the stadium damages and lack of gate money.

Completely and utterly out of order whatever the severity of the damage
What makes it worse, as if anything could, is that, almost always, we receive a warm welcome when we visit grounds at this level - it's one of the attractions of non-league football.

The club are doing the right thing by taking responsibility for the actions of the supporters of our club within another clubs ground. Responsibility that the individuals should be mature enough and sensible enough to take on themselves. The club are doing what is right, fans have to learn to do the same.

A little more information needed. Not much could be broken on the terrace and I’d imagine those in the seats were families or seniors etc. Didn’t see any damage to the toilets but didn’t use them after half time. And likewise there didn’t look too much to damage in the concourse. I haven’t heard of any other Chester supporter say they saw any damage and let’s face it we have many supporters who would jump straight on that type of thing.

Almost feels like they’re saying we’re not in a good position to even pay it given the stadium damages and lack of gate money. Of course you do have to fear for the worst. But the Club statement lacks any detail and so far it appears not a single supporter has either witnessed or is aware of what damage has been caused to the ground. Perhaps a quick update would be useful, and who knows, if this is seriously costly to repair, then perhaps the idiots will be identified.
