At one nil we had a chance of getting a point but no hope at two. We wasn't bad but wasn't poor as recent games played...lynch with a bad mistake for the second and a dodgey offside for the first but barrow deserved the points but a disgrace to football on how they play!!

Lynch made up for that with a wonderful save from Hannah, though, so can't blame him for the defeat.

What a bloody horrible team, no wonder Hannah can't get in that team of thugs and cheats. We also suffered what must be the worst set of officials ever seen at the stadium, and that's saying something. The ref literally 'didnt know what he was doing' and spoilt what could have been a very good game. We didn't deserve to lose that and lost because of a blatant offside goal and a cock up from Lynch. Otherwise we were the better team for large parts of the game and played some good football but it all comes to nothing in the final third.

I just feel a lack of width is hurting us we can only play the ball through the middle and due to the amount of bodies in that area it's very hard to find your man and create any chances, I think 5 minutes of injury time in each half was testimony to the time wasting tactics employed by Barrow they are a horrible side.

There's just no pace in midfield to open teams up. How we need Mahon to be fit for next season as he's been sorely misssd. Also lacking a ball winner in midfield and a strike partner for Alabi.
Just looking forward to the end of the season.

I’m going to let loose for a second, forgive me, but… What an absolute embarrassing farmyard outfit Barrow are, managed by a scruffy fat slurring git. Seriously, their antics were pathetic tonight and the last thing we needed was a weak referee who was completely taken in by it all. You need someone strong to clamp down on shithouse tactics like that. Some of their fans were proper weird as well, staggering around falling over the wall for christ sake.
All that said, they possibly just about deserved to win, maybe a draw would have been a fairer result but they created a bit more. Did a job on us, ugly but effective enough football, although the first goal looked offside and second was pure luck with Lynch dropping a pot shot. They actually started to play a bit when Ross Hannah came on.
Average sort of performance from us, didn’t think we were particularly bad but struggled to create much. If I had to pick someone out I’d probably go with Hunt as man of the match, Richards did ok at times and Shaw did alright.
I can give credit to a team like Macclesfield, came here and played the game in the right way and outplayed us last week. But not this shower who turned up here tonight.

I thought we played ok, actually passing the ball around rather than hoofing it. But we really lacked a threat up front. Alabi had one of his most ineffective games, and Richards was.... Richards.
Probably agree with the above that Hunt was man of the match. Also decent performances from Lloyd, Horwood and Astles (as normal)
I can't put into words how bad the officials were, or how dirty and underhanded barrow were. Hardly surprising "no one likes them". The sooner their owner gets bored and they tumble back down the leagues the better

Horrible football from a horrible team with a horrible attitude.
In their cretinous little minds they will justify it because they won but, in my view, they were an absolute disgrace to football. Frankly I hope they fail in whatever they're trying to achieve and slip back into obscurity.
As for the "officials" - quite possibly the worst performance I've seen in recent times (and there's been a few) - and they wonder why they get dog's abuse
As for us, distinctly non-descript type of performance, didn't create a lot and just seemed to lack imagination and creativity to unlock their defence even though they looked vulnerable when we did put them under pressure. One of Alabi's poorer games, Richards OK, my MoM was Tom Shaw
Overall, a night to forget for the reasons I've given

Once again Hudson and Richards did fuck all for 90 minutes. What a pair of wage thieves. We always seem to leak goals with Hudson playing, he's like a headless chicken at times and his distribution is shocking. I'm normally quite critical of Richards, but I don't think he played that badly tonight. Alabi on the other hand was poor. It's a shame that Akintunde had been missing so long, because we haven't been the same team since he got injured because we haven't been able to rotate be forwards. It's a travesty that we didn't bring in another forward to provide competition.

I think hunt was MOM and for me the most improved player of the season , Richards did OK but Alabi was totally ineffective. I can give credit to Macc who were a good footballing side but this shower of shite if they did manage the playoffs will get tossed .

From the first minute when the officials gave the incorrect decision for the throw in I sensed it wasn't to be our night. Their goal from our players and crowds reaction was probably offside but given. The officials, players and staff of Barrow are a disgrace to football. People pay good money to watch a game of football not theatrics, cheating and bullying. Maybe they all went home to the circus on the car park because that's where they belong. I've never seen so many players ''injured'' during a match like the Barrow players. Their manager and assistant obviously thought it was fun. They should have been down to ten men after the disgraceful tackle on Richards. To be fair to Richards he kept his cool tonight as did several of our players under the circumstances. Alabi never gets any protection from refs. Dawson had a reasonable game when he came on. Fantastic save from Lynch from Hannahs effort, but unfortunate that the ball squirmed under him for their second goal. We weren't at our best tonight but maybe a draw would've been a fair result. It was nice to the Chester fans give a round of applause to Hannah before he came on. Well done to the Harry Mac stand. Kept going throughout the match. All in all I'm gutted tonight. I feel let down by people who are supposed to officiate football and make the right decisions. It's performances by officials like this that cost managers their job, and lose a team points :-(

What a frustrating game that was. The so-called ''officials'' stole a living tonight, possibly one of the worst set I've seen here. They were constantly making poor, controversial decisions which lifted the roof off here. I don't know how the ''linesman'' never raised his flag for the first goal, he was 5 yards offside, but knowing horrible little teams like Barrow he would be in his favour. What a melon! Finally, am I the only person who thinks the circus is here for the officials? That's where they belong in my eyes. Paul Cox is right, no-one likes Barrow. How they won I'll never know. We might have lacked quality, but I can't believe a team who were coming up with nasty little tricks won tonight. They are a disgrace to football, and I feel sorry for Ross Hannah who isn't starting for them for the case of a squad of thugs. The sooner Paul Casson gives up, the better. Anyway, the match was a frustrating affair. In the first half Kane Richards was up for it more and he played rather well. Hunt, Shaw, Lloyd and Durrell were probably our better players tonight but Alabi didn't look himself. In general we kept possession well against a Barrow team who didn't impress me at all. We need more width though and when we attack their is a lack of options I find. We maybe could've picked up a win if Alex Lynch had not let that in, but it's a rare mistake from him after he made a good tip over from Hannah. A frustrating night, but a win at Torquay is a possibility on Saturday. Good luck to everyone travelling down there 🔵⚪.

Surprised Lord Ryan Astles didn't get man of the match. Awesome. Won every challenge. Hope we get him for another 12 months. Fantastic at this level.

With the dodgey officiating and Barrow's total lack of any kind of integrity, we were always going to be up against it last night.
It's not the defeat that worries me, it's more that we were almost chasing the entire game, at home, and yet were only able to create so little. We had plenty of the ball throughout the game and I'd have liked us to have at least worked their keeper a bit.
Dreadful officials apart, if we don't start creating more chances in games we'll continue to struggle.

The pen was right in front of me if Kane had have stayed upright until the challage was made it would have been nailed on but he's was on his way down before the tackle was made and that's what the ref saw, the fullback got the man not the ball but Kane was already falling by then

That manager and squad will get us relegated next season ,possibly as early as the end of January Couldn't agree more. Embarrassing his after match press conference, criticising supporters for questioning him and his decision making. Keeps banging on about where we are etc, etc. He seems to conveniently forget the appalling run we have been on since the beginning of December, and how, but for what we achieved before then, we would be bottom of the league now. What we achieved before then was achieved despite of him, not because of him - it becomes clearer every game that his previous assistant was the main organiser. It really annoys me when he clearly gets upset with Neil Turner asking him about re-signing all the players. At what point and in what fairyland does he think that some of these are good enough? Has he not been watching George, Hudson, Richards etc all season like we have? He even has the 'luxury' of watching them many times over with his infamous DVD's. Perhaps he to shares the same doubts as we do about his potential to recruit and sees an easier option as retaining some of this shower? I'm sure 'Big Chris' will work it out though. He looks more like a fan on the sidelines than a coach. Spent the whole of last night turning around and mocking the officials, rather than doing anything of note. Anyway, Jon tells us we are going to win a few of the next games, so don't worry. His crystal ball and fantasy thinking should never be doubted.

I don't think we had a home run this bad even when Pejic was manager.
Our home record had gone from W8 D2 L3 to W8 D3 L9.
How many managers would not be sacked after a run like that.

Utterly disgraceful from Barrow and the officials. From the first minute when they gave Barrow a throw even though it clearly came off their player we were always up against it. Their first goal was yards offside but the linesman was nowhere near being up with play. I wonder how teams can get away with that - filthy tackles, taking a minute for every dead ball situation, their keeper waiting to pick the ball up until one of our players was near him from the second minute. But the thing that really hacked me off was as soon as we started building pressure or getting into threatening positions one of their players went down holding his head. I know by the rules the ref has to stop play for a head injury but it happened every bloody time and he has to realise that. With all the discussion and concern over head injuries I would like to see a rule where if play is stopped for a head injury, the injured player has to stay off the field for a few minutes - it would ensure the player is fit to return and would stop cheating like what Barrow were doing. And I know Richards likes to go to ground but that was as clear a penalty as you can see - he got in front of the defender and had his legs taken from underneath him. Blatant, linesman and ref had to see that.
Apart from the goals neither team created too much. Hannah's brilliant lob from the half way line was superbly saved, we came close a few times, draw would have been fair. But not much football was played due to Barrow's antics and teams like that do not deserve to win. If they do get into the playoffs they have no chance. Game of football ruined.

Good on Big Chris giving the officials some stick, they deserved it. People thought it was wonderful when Solihull came here and hounded the officials all game so if you can't beat them join them. As for resigning the squad, I will believe it when I see it but it does seem hasty. I'd get rid of about 5 and add Hughes and Alabi to that then we need to bring in 7 players or so. It seems early to be offering squad players contracts, by all means offer your key players deals but for me he should be waiting until he sees who else is available over the summer before blowing his budget too early. Surely we'd be able to pick up someone better than Hudson etc?!

Ok, so Barrow were horrible and the officials terrible . . . but by my reckoning we had two shots in 100 minutes!! Good job it's York next up at home, who will bring a large following. Alabi and Hughes will be gone end of season, and the loan lads gone back . . . probably about half a dozen worth keeping for me.
