Fair play, that was shockingly bad.

The subs were baffling, Dawson's forward passing was the only thing that troubled York. I would sign him up for next season. Richards is a waste of space and George brings nothing to the team. I actually thought that we looked OK the first 15 minutes of the second half and we were starting to create some chances but as soon as I saw the three subs I knew the game was up. It's true that we are sufficient because of injuries though but even so the entertainment value is low. I don't know the answers let's hope macca does.

Question . . . who actually gave him a two and a half year contract? He looks absolutely clueless at the moment.
Nine home defeats in ten says it all. Thank the Lord only two more to go.
And rumour has it prices to rise all round?

At least none of our players got sent off or critically injured and that fine fellow lord Parkin failed to find the net and the blues bar did a spiffingly good trade before and after the game.

It's perfectly simple. If we start next season with McCarthy in charge and the bulk of this team, we'll go down. I think a lot of fans will agree with that which could have a disastrous effect on the number of season tickets sold. Only the most ardent fans will shell out good money to watch a continuation of the crap we've seen over the past 3 months.

Well i have to agree we were poor yet again. We started well for 5 or so mins, but that was about it. The reason for today and 2017's general downturn in results are as follows: 1. Loss of Mahon and Akitunde 2. Playing Sam at right back rather than Centre back pairing with Astles. 3. No support for Alabi - at least a striker should have been signed in Jan to help the poor fella out, played well in most of 2017, though is looking a little like having to shoulder the burden by himself of sole striker is starting to tell. 4. No width, we should have signed some young wingers on loan on the cheap earlier in the year. 5. 4-4-2 , should be kept simple...it works providing you play the best available players in their best positions - which again has rarely happened this year. 6. McCarthy - he has tinkered far too much, i realise that this is due partly to injuries and partly to "planning" for next season, but none of it has worked at all. To even it out the plus's i can think of: We know that we cant keep a lot of the team and we know that if we do we are up shit creek. Need to sign Alabi, Astles as a priority otherwise we are up another smelly creek without a paddle. We've learnt that even though McCarthy does have a lot of stats about games, he pays no attention to the basic ones that count. Namely points 2,3,4,5,6 which are things he could have had an impact on. I'm sorry but Astles has been very poor since the turn of the year, too sluggish and for his size is far too far oftenly bullied by big strikers.

I'm sorry Mr McCarthy, but that is completely unacceptable. Totally outplayed by a bottom 4 team who could have scored 5 or 6. Dawson is probably a contender for a worst ever Chester XI and Alabi was no better than he was at Torquay last week. Utterly demoralising. No wonder the crowd was so low. I think any manager with any integrity would walk after the home run like that. I really do believe that our good run was down to Sharps. I don't know how anyone can expect home performances like that can result in anything other than defeat. Thought Dawson was one of the better players. Alan I is clearly knackered, why does he leave him up front on his own. If you don't trust Richards, try a youth team striker. Has 5 in midfield EVER worked for us? You have to be kidding? When he wasn't kicking the ball into the stands today, he was passing it to a York player. I think this is a wind up?

1 point at home since the turn of the year is absolutely unacceptable.
Realistically we won't win our next two away games either.
Can anyone see us beating Woking as well.
If we lose the next 3 then regardless of what contract he's on then the board seriously need to look at his position at the club.

That was a disgrace today, York were a poor team as well! John Mcarthy's job must be under threat now ! He can't motivate players most were ambling through the game, if he retains the majority of this squad we will be nailed on for this drop next season! We are probably going to just survive this time but since Xmas we have been pathetic. Season ticket sales will be very poor over summer and if rumours are true of impending price rises we will be pressing the self destruct button! Fans will continue to vote with their feet, just what is Mark Mcguire doing to improve this? No ticket deals , no child offers for Easter games! Does he honestly think people will just turn up and stomach this dire football?

Today's performance was a disgrace and Mcarthy should apologise to fans ! York were a poor team but wanted it more than us and we were lucky to only lose 2 nil, I can't believe our manager thinks we're having a decent season and wants to keep these players !!!! Mcarthy's job must be under threat now as this cannot continue , he would have been sacked at most clubs for this form. If most of this squad are kept on for next season we are certs for relegation and crowds will be very poor! We play dire football and never attack teams or look like scoring , at the moment we are one of the worst teams in the league! Rumours today of rises in tickets for next season are surely not correct ? If true fans will vote with their feet , I would expect to see big incentives towards season tickets and pay on day deals not rises ! Mark Mcguire is doing nothing to stop falling gates despite allegedly having big plans ! If squad is kept on and no ticket deals announced I will not be renewing my season ticket along with many others fans I know , will be picking and choosing my games ! This club is not moving forward or building at all it's regressing !

I will probably renew mine but I also know one definite non renewal next season, someone who has rarely missed a home game for at least 25 years. And it's not a money thing either

We can't afford to sack McCarthy so our only hope is to get a No.2 who can carry on where Sharps left off.

McCarthy's post match interview is very tiresome viewing. Same old excuses and rhetoric from him. If he thinks Durrell, Hudson, George, Lloyd, Richards are good enough then he really is clueless!

I'm afraid that is the problem - he does think he has a squad capable of being in the top 8 next season.
