Fantastic news , the money generated from these games is significant and is another income stream into the Club. Let’s hope we can secure them to a long term deal

Whoever has made the final decision has to know that the gains outweigh the losses because if it became a regular thing I'd have alot of doubt.

Obviously a few quid in it for us. Wouldn't want our pitch knackered though as we have a lot of home games coming up!

Tranmere's pitch has been poor for years and ours has always been good. Think the women's football is just being used as a convenient excuse for it myself.

Tranmere put out a very concise statement a couple of weeks ago regarding the state of the pitch which is available on their website which puts to bed all the conspiracy theories floating around including the head groundsmans qualifications ffs!!

Who is the sponsor we have lost? Swansway (main stand sponsor). As SB says. It would be interesting to know the sequence of events surrounding this. Did the club decide to rename the stand and then ask Swansway to stop sponsoring the stand ? Could'nt the Main Stand have been called the Swansway ? Stand. Do the club intend to ask other large sponsors to relinquish their sponsorship so that other parts of the ground can be renamed ?

Won't be long before it's the Murphy stadium, I really hope we aren't putting all our eggs in one basket with losing sponsors and having Stuart plug the gaps left...

Hope this isn’t a regular occurrence they’ve destroyed tranmeres pitch Fake news. Tranmere's pitch has been destroyed due to a collapsed drainage system. They can't repair it until the close season.

Paul Bodman mentioned it in the CFU meeting the other day (the stream is still on twitter). Swansway have pulled out due to affordability. If they are tightening their belts then that's their choice. They are still using the car park at present for staff parking and suchlike but will be billed for it moving forward.

Oh right so nothing to do with Liverpool u21 and Liverpool women playing on it nah? Of course that’s contributed. But where have we taken on 2/3/4 of these matches a week? We’ve taken on one and it’ll be good exposure, good money and strengthening a very important partnership.

Swansway will have had a contract with the club and we should have held them to it until we found another sponsor. The (Company Name) Gary Talbot Stand would surely have been acceptable ? The way things have been done suggests that we will not accept sponsorship of the main stand in the future and once Stuart stop picking up the tab we will have deprived ourselves of £20k of income per annum ? That is a large amount of money for the club so I would appreciate some kind of official statement to clear things up.

Just to be clear Mike you are suggesting the Club should have forced Swansway to honour the contract they couldn’t afford putting in danger the companies entire future, with implications for their employees and families. I know you have issues with Stuart but please think before you post. There are a number of questions that need answering as this is a serious matter which means the club could be deprived of around £20k of income in future years. Firstly did Swansway approach the club to say they had problems and ask the club to end the contract ? or did the club Board decide they wanted to rename the stand without sponsorship and ask them to end the contract ? Secondly will the club be seeking sponsorship of the main stand in the future or have they decided that would be inappropriate ? Thirdly because of the future financial implications should CFU members as owners of the club have been consulted ? Fourthly if the answer to the first question is that Swansway approached the club will the club consider ending other contracts on the basis of financial hardship ? The club does have a large number of employees to pay so that would be a very dangerous precedent to set imo. £20k is about the same amount of money raised from CFU memberships so this is not a trivial sum to a club like Chester FC.

Paul covered these in his update , Swansway approached the Club seeking to come out of the deal and Stuart covered the remaining balance for the rest of the season.

I have emailed these questions to the appropriate person at the club.

I don't get why you seem unhappy with the arrangement? We've had the Harry McNally Terrace for over 10 years without company sponsorship. Nobody has even batted an eyelid over it..
