Not surprised to hear this - Belarussian leader Alexander Lukashenko today said that there is "no need to panic, the tractor will cure everyone" and that all Belarussian's should drink 40-50 grams of vodka a day to fight off the virus, "but not at work".

Belarus hovers between oppressive and downright bonkers. The weirdest country in Europe.

Forest Green Rovers owner Dale Vince said suspending all professional matches on 13 March was a "mistake" because the virus had "barely impacted the country" by that stage.
"I think cancelling all games until 3 April was a mistake," Dale told BBC Sport.
"I think it was an error of judgment - there were a few cases in the Premier League of self-isolation.
"In that three to four week period we could have virtually finished our season playing Saturday to Tuesday.
"Instead of shutting down I would have doubled down and said let's play our way to the end of the season as soon as possible because the virus and the rate of infection across the county is not going to get better in two, three or four months."

I understand his point, but how many more people would have died as a result?

He nay have done well with FGR but he's not a medical specialist. Stupid comments. Italians regret acting too late and say we have also and still are.

For someone who professes to be all about the environment and sustainability, he is ruthlessly business-minded and pro-capitalism. You can't really be both.

Vince is all about Vince he doesn't care about anything or anybody as long as he's making money and forcing people to follow his ideals (ie nobody can eat meat if he owns the place) he reminds me of someone else who tried to force his ideas on the masses in the early 20th century, although he's not as brutal. He will be joining that other arsehole Branson in tax exile next

Yes but he has also cheated the country out of millions of pounds in avoiding taxes and now wants the government to bale him out by paying the employees he's laid off or do you condone that?

I think you’ll find that’s a consequence of Coronavirus, not Richard Branson.

You'd think he could manage to reach into his pockets.

By answering just part of the question I take it you do condone his tax evasion then god help us if everyone had those ethics.

By answering just part of the question I take it you do condone his tax evasion then god help us if everyone had those ethics. Personally, I can’t stand tax dodgers, but I can still acknowledge the achievements of the individuals, be it in business or sport. How Lewis Hamilton can be considered as a contender for British Sports Personality is beyond me, but I have to acknowledge he can drive a bit! Tell me, does your socialist principles condone the tax dodgers that make up the black economy, be it a back street car repairer, or a publican selling short measure pints? Perhaps you just have a bit of a jealous hatred of the very successful dodgers. P.S. Capital G. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone, and all that. You sure you’ve never ever dodged a wee bit of tax? Starbucks coffee anyone?
