Signed up - really easy, I’ve decided to cancel my monthly payment to the Racing Channel, as I don’t think I’m going to be stuck for TV Sport over the next 12 months!
One thing that I think needs to be considered is increasing the cost of beer, soft drinks & food at the ground - it’s much cheaper than it is at Chester Races, concerts etc and is a no brainer as far as I’m concerned to increase revenue. If people feel it’s too expensive they don’t have to buy.
For in the future when things return to something approaching normality!!
Also big thanks to Jim and all the fund raising committee for all the hard work setting this up 👍🏻👍🏻

If the prices go up people will just eat and drink elsewhere pior to the game. Suppose it would free up some space in the bar if less people went though!

I’ve pledged a tenner a month but might throw them a few bob on Friday when I get paid. Every little helps.

Great effort. Keeping it going Blues. Together we can smash the target. Wonder if the meal with the managers will be at TGI Fridays ??!

Can someone confirm the figure quoted is the total amount that will be raised once the d/d amounts have been collected at the end of a period(for example 10 pounds a month 12 month pledge total120pounds) figure included today 120 pounds

If that's the case as I quoted above we won't have 100k to boost the budget this close season only in 12 months time I'm sure money won't be spent on promises(there are bound to be drop outs due to circumstances) Don't get me wrong it's not being critical it's a great effort well done to everyone

Players are paid monthly, the DD's come in monthly. I'll let someone at the club comment on drop out rates but I believe we have spoken to Darlington about their drop out rates to get an idea.

I was thinking of budget (or part)in the summer being spent on any transfer fees/signing on fees. But I suppose with so many players being released from clubs due to financial issues due to the virus impact we won't be paying transfer fees at least players will be glad to get a new club

Just set mine up too. Really easy. Took one minute.
Be interesting to see if the money keeps going up over the weeks, or it all came in early. How will people become aware of this, if they aren't by now?

How will people become aware of this, if they aren't by now? I originally thought that £100k was shooting for the stars, but with that kind of take up in 48 hours it will hopefully spur those who were on the fence to join up. If we get to £60k, and allowing for drop outs add £50k to our budget that is a massive boost. As I've said before as the owners we have to fund anything on top of what our income would give us. If we can only afford a £200k budget, adding 50k to it is a massive boost and a real credit to our supporters.

How will people become aware of this, if they aren't by now? Just checked Darlo twitter feed, they were putting out updates daily (sometimes 3 a day) at the beginning, £30k in 8 hours, £45k in 2 days... Also their donations tailed off towards the end before coming back with 1 last push. I think we should be doing the same as well as management and players using their social media streams to keep awareness levels high. Email shots to all on the database (GDPR allowing), small incentive to 'introduce a friend' (maybe when interest begins to wane), target SMEs are some ideas. I would expect renewed spikes when people get paid around mid and end of month

Rather than just push this on social media we need to be in the local papers and on local radio. There are loads of people who do not follow this site or do twitter. A few chosen words to the chronicle. echo. And national league paper. May help

As others have said, so quick and easy to set up though one thing I did notice is the forms to register don't load on mobile? Could be something to look at as not everyone may have access to laptop / tablets?
Really good communication and promotion of this idea, and amazing to see the response already. Hopefully we can ramp this up with more info in newspapers and local radio as many older fans may still be unaware of this.

Thanks everyone for your pledges and constructive feedback.
We did send a press release to local contacts and also the NLP - it was great of Dee to feature on Shane’s show and hopefully Jonno will be on BBC Radio Merseyside tomorrow. We will continue to push for as much press coverage as we can.
An email has been sent to the CFU database and we’re looking at ways to reach those who may not have email or be regular web users, both to promote this scheme and also CFU renewals.
I will flag up the issue with forms on mobile.
We’re going to update at least every 48 hours and our thanks to the volunteers who are helping pull the financial information together.

Jim, big thanks to all the volunteers at the club, I received my order from the club shop this morning (not much left, but worth a last look) doing a sterling job under the current circumstances.
Appreciate that many people are struggling financially but amazing amount of pledges in just 48 hours, I was one who was very sceptical on the £100k target. but now genuinely feel we can beat it!
Has anyone considered contacting the local Premier League clubs to ask if they will at least give a retweet (there are many Chester people who are armchair Liverpool & Everton fans!!)

Thanks for your contributions - the short answer is no, these aren’t being counted towards Boost the Budget. The CFU contributions go towards the club’s operational costs so these are really important where as pledges to Boost the Budget will go towards the first team budget costs. Although all funds ultimately support our club, we do appreciate fans may have their own personal preference about where they wish their contributions to be allocated. If anyone wishes to amend existing contributions then I’m sure we can accommodate this. Hope that helps answer your question Ken and thanks again.
