I’ve decided to make this thread so that all of the key dates and information in our preparations for the new season can be posted on here.
Anyway, our first pre-season friendly was announced today where we will visit Trafford away on Saturday 22nd August at 15:00. The fixture will be behind-closed-doors as things stand.

I wouldn't put any dates in your diary as yet. Pre-season training schedules and friendlies will be dictated by the confirmed start date for the National League, which is still unclear.

On the subject of pre-season I will be going to my first game since March today to watch Warstones Wanderers V Smethwick Rangers in a friendly. Anyone else off to get a football fix?

It finished Warstones Wanderers 7-1 Smethwick Rangers in what was a very one-sided and entertaining encounter to begin the season with. Despite being two divisions below the visitors, Warstones ripped Smethwick apart thanks to some quality finishing and shocking defending.

It finished Rochdale Sacred Heart 1-4 Wythenshawe Town where a certain Dom Smalley bagged half of Wythenshawe’s goals - think he’s found his level! All in all it was an entertaining contest as the quality of football on offer was very decent considering how low down both sides compete at, and there were a handful of goals to boot too.

I’m seeing a young talent scout here. Get yourself on the payroll!

Off to watch Stalybridge Celtic V West Didsbury And Chorlton today in a friendly to get my football fix, at the scene of Iain Howard’s corker of a volley in 2012. Anyone else taking advantage of the fact we can watch games from Step 3 and below?

It finished Stalybridge Celtic 4-0 West Didsbury And Chorlton in a game hampered by the gusty weather, although Stalybridge still managed to cruise to a comprehensive and deserved win. They dominated the entire match from the first minute to the last against a side three divisions below them, who didn’t cause them any issues. Great to be back at a ‘’proper’’ stadium again for the first time in a few months.

Great news, especially with supporters allowed to attend. For anyone going, don’t forget to take your oxygen masks with you if you don’t want to get altitude sickness 😏.

It’s a max of 600 I believe don’t know if it’s all tickets as it’s very possible we can get near that figure for our first game, what does everyone think.

Thanks Rio I have just seen that I hope we fit in a couple of sterner tests at home before the season starts.

Wont most FL sides have started their season 12 Sept, so maybe hard to see them playing friendlies against us unless reserve teams,.IMHO

Statement from Radcliffe -
Message from Paul Hilton, Chairman
We are proud to say that the all the hard work at the Club over the last few years gave us a platform to survive the COVID-19 crisis to this point without needing to appeal to the fans and the Town for financial help. As a Board we took the decision early that if we don’t absolutely need help to survive then we would not ask for it as our supporters and our Town have had, and may continue to have their own personal stresses during this difficult time.
It was important to us that any help from our supporter base should be tangible, and in reality something where our supporters, our Town and our Club benefit together. We believe that aim is best served by attending our games, cheering us on and buying and wearing our merchandise which promotes the Club and this Town with pride. We take greater pride seeing you in our ground enjoying yourself and around Town promoting us in the Clubs colours than we ever will from a number on a faceless gofundme or a justgiving page, and now finally after 5 months, its time to welcome you back to the Neuven.
We have worked hard to bring solutions to the current problems we face and in reality we are still learning how everything will work in practice - but that’s what pre-season is all about and you have your part to play in that too.
We will have 2 pre-season home games starting with Chester on Saturday and I'm also delighted to announce that on Tuesday 1st September we will host our new tenants Bury AFC. Both games will carry a restricted capacity and will be ALL-TICKET. On Saturday the Chester game will be limited to 15% of the Step 3 minimum at 300 and following a successful trial at this capacity we will be allowed to expand to 30% (600) for the Bury game. The Club will do all it can to ensure your safety, our Risk Assessments and plans are in place, but you also need to help us by following the government guidelines and taking a sensible approach to social distancing, just as our travelling support did at Prescot last Saturday.
In order to manage capacity we are trialling a digital ticketing solution and we have implemented a bar ordering app called NoQ to reduce congestion in the bar. Please embrace this technology - it will help us deliver a safer environment for you.
Ticket Prices
As I'm sure you will appreciate we have had to make some tough decisions and as such standard League/Cup ticket pricing for 20/21 is as follows:
Adult: £10 Concession: £7 Under 18s: £3 Under 16s: Free (although this scheme may need to be suspended/altered during restricted capacity games)
Season Tickets
Will go on sale soon, but due to the need to manage capacities friendlies will not be included this year:
Adult Season Ticket: £150 Concession Season Ticket: £100
Pre Season Fixtures
Adult: £7 Concession: £5
It was a proud moment of mine in my first act as Chairman to make all under 16s attendance completely free of charge at Radcliffe FC and it’s been a difficult decision to suspend this scheme but unfortunately due to the limited nature of the capacity for these first pre-season matches we will not be able to provide free tickets. I hope you understand.
Chester tickets will be on sale from 8pm this evening, Bury AFC will be announced later this week. Keep following us for purchasing details. A link to purchase will be available on our social media pages.
Finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel - the government, DCMS and The FA are reviewing these policies constantly and it is now up to us Clubs, Officials, Volunteers and Supporters to prove that Football can be trusted to return safely so that we can all enjoy our Saturday afternoons again. I hope you understand the decisions that we've made and the spirit they are intended and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
