Well we do know reliably that Hartlepool knocked them back after due diligence and then warned Chesterfield off them. Suppose Wrexham fans reckon they should be in League One so were always going to nibble on the dangled (poisoned?) carrot. don't let the truth get in the way of a good bitch eh.... completely different group of investors.

The suggestion was it was a silent investor in the background and these two Hollywood guys were a front.

I completely understand why Beavis & Butthead invested into the scumbags with them being such a "massive" club. I do think that they really believe that the Netflix deal will snowball and make millions for the club, but what if it bombs? In the USA Men's football come way behind...Ice Hockey, Basketball, the NFL and golf. In fact the Mens game comes miles behind the Womens game. The yanks just are not interested in 'Soccer' If they had invested in a Womens team in the WSL over here then who knows? maybe it would take off. But unless they get promoted, play against top teams in FA cup runs i think intertest will soon drop at good old Netflix.....and so will the Deadfool interest. Then where would they be? Every Wrexham fan i speak to says ''you lot are just envious of us'' It all looks good but it is all based on ifs and buts. I mean the Netflix thing is aimed at the American market, nobody outside Wrexham will be interested in the UK. It MAY work out great but it is more likely to fail and if they are still a non league club when they get bored it does make you wonder if a Vaughan, Moss or Rushe type of character will rock up and buy it. Their fans won't be able to afford the asking price if they do sell. They have handed over the 'family silver' in this takeover. Another problem IF they get bored is that they can sell to whoever they want because the fans are in the minority. It's all based on most of their fans argument that 'we are too big for this league' But as a fan owned club they were not too far away from cracking it

The second half of your post hits the nail on the head - it’s what/who comes next after this “project” ends. After what they went through with Gutterman and Hamilton, then took control of their own destiny, to give it away to literally the first person that comes calling and then opening themselves up for another Gutterman, another Hamilton.
You’re spot on with why it happened too - their fans think they should be in League One.

Think again they are very serious businessmen, they can see the potential It's a club that can command 10k plus gates in the league they compete in Improve the ground promotion, your looking at 15k easy in league2 if top 4

Not literally the first who came calling though FOP.
It waqs confirmed we had a number of approaches which the board rejected but none with the potential advertising and spending power of R&R.
To suggest they are anything like the scum you mention above is way off the Mark in my view.
And yes we do want to be back in the Football league - don't you want Chester there or are you content to stay in none league forever?

Some good points on here my view is the problem for them isn't the owners it's Keats's I don't think he is the long term answer

In all seriousness good luck to them. I bet most of us would jump at an offer like this for our club,I would anyway. Not sure they'll ever be anything more than a F/L club though, but I'd take that any day.

Banking on the short term success and hoping it sustains. As has been said what of subsequent owners. Can't see the Holywood pair seeing this as a long term project so when they step away there is always the possibility that their successors come in and bleed the club dry.
Nobody hopes for or expects that but the possibility is always there. I think there must be a high percentage of bad or incompetent owners at all levels over the years to not rule it out.
Living on the edge!
(At least they'll have a TV documentary to look back at.)

who knows what the future will brings for either of us, both are (where) currently at a level they can(could) financially afford and like it or not both are(where) slowly declining, football is a money game. if it goes wrong the fans will no doubt take over again and find the money like they have done in the past..... who knows what the new owners end game is I very much doubt its just a documentary, thats been done before, maybe its just to sell aviation gin apparently 6000 celebratory bottles were sold in 3 hours!!!. wxm fans have something to look forward to and Chester, well there is Blyth Spartans away to look forward to.

I Find this board a staggering read to be honest and embarrassing ...we are going on (or Hoping) that their bubble will burst someday..and what?...they end up like us back in National league North !!...Please do not try telling me that if a couple of multimillionaires come in for us with a sound investment plan that could propel the club forward in times when a lot of the lower league clubs futures now look in grave jeopardy including ours in this what's turning out to be a very badly run piss pot league... we wouldn't snatch their hands off...??...it might not work out for them and they will even have a very hard time getting out of the division they are in now.. but bloody hell ..what an opportunity..

You can make money buying a football club Firstly buy one with a proper fan base Wrexham have a fan base If you think they have not well sorry we disagree

It's entertaining that a bunch of Wxm fans can't resist joining in on our chatroom whenever their huge status is questioned.
Look lads, we get it. You have more fans than us. Doesn't mean we don't beat you on the pitch from time to time, or even drown you out at your place occasionally (as you do to us). That's fine. And you would indeed get half decent gates if you were several leagues higher and doing really well (who wouldn't). It's the constant 'our dad is bigger than your dad'/'we're massive' stuff that makes you look silly.
Enjoy the ride with one-trick twinkly eyes and the anonymous one; hopefully it will be fun for you while it lasts, and then we'll see you again in a while - maybe sooner, maybe later.
Now off you pop - thanks for coming.
